Protecting Illegal Migrants Against America: Pritzker the Fool and His Brother Brandon

by John Kass

Wednesday Jan. 29, 2025

Before we touch on the amazing Pritzker the Fool and his twin Brandon the Fool, can we please mention the original fool, Gimpel?

Gimpel the Fool was his name in the short story by the superb Isaac Bashevis Singer. Gimpel was a simple bread maker in the village of Frampol.

Yet Gimpel was not so much of a fool as to think he’d become president of the United States by thwarting his country’s immigration laws against the wishes of the people, who don’t like illegal migrants crossing illegally into their country, and then demanding benefits from taxpayers.

Gimpel was the butt of many jokes in Frampol, cuckolded as he was by the shrew he married, the deceitful and manipulative Elka who was unfaithful with half the village. But as Gimpel himself says in Singer’s story, he was more than content in his foolish state. He lived in fantasy:

The longer I lived the more I understood that there were really no lies. Whatever doesn’t really happen is dreamed at night.

Unfortunately, the residents of Chicago, where Brandon Johnson is the mayor, and Illinois, where J.B. Pritzker is the governor, don’t live in fantasy land. And they certainly cannot live on the foolish dreams of idiot politicians who take money from taxpayers to pay others to blow smoke up their behinds.

And the people of blue Democrat Chicago that controls the Democrat politics don’t like being told to step to the back of the bus in their own hometown so that Marxists bent on destruction can rearrange society to please themselves and welcome illegal migrants as loyal, submissive voters. Especially since black Chicago voters are loudly and publicly opposed to the open borders policy of the failed China Joe Biden regime  Washington.

Without black voters rushing obediently to the polls, there is no Democrat Party. Don’t Pritzker and Johnson comprehend this?

The American people literally just voted for illegals to be deported just weeks ago. In November, yet all we hear from the left and their corporate media mouthpieces is false hysteria, drama and screaming, as if the Democrat Media Complex is controlled by hysterical teen-aged girls in desperate need of several quarts of ice cream, and having to settle for vanilla.

What I find odd is that Pritzker, Johnson and the Democrats on their payroll keep ignoring black voters on this key demographic political issue.

Chicago and Illinois are economic disasters, a failed state and failed city. They continue opposing federal immigration law, thwarting the department of Immigration and Customs enforcement. “We stand together firmly in our welcoming city status as well as our commitment to protecting ALL residents of the city of Chicago no matter where you come from or how long you’ve lived here,” said Mayor Johnson the Fool.

That was almost as good as the recent idiocy of Pritzker the Fool.

“To anyone who intends to come take away the freedom and opportunity and dignity of Illinoisans, I would remind you that a happy warrior is still a warrior. You come for my people, you come through me.”

Macho macho man. Keep stuffing your face and you’ll break the other leg.

It’s one thing to have the idiot media applauding you as did the Chicago Tribune which played into Democrat fantasy with a headline blaring: “WE Are Terrified” about the ICE deportation raids of criminals.

It’s embarrassing to have the newspaper I worked for parroting Marxist Democrat talking points.  That’s the Tribune, you weasels. But it’s quite another thing for Democrat politicos to face angry Democratic voters in a Democrat city like Chicago, voters who have soundly rejected idiotic leftist immigration policy.

You want terrified? Think of Pritzker’s face when Tom Homan puts the leg irons on him. Because Pritzker and Johnson are thwarting the law. And the Marxist left pretends they’re all about the law, except when they break the law in pursuit of Marxist politics.

Chicago Democrat voters have made themselves plain: they’re opposed to China Joe Biden’s broken borders that weren’t broken by accident.

And they’ve loudly made themselves clear.

Johnson is a failure. That’s commonly understood. As the sage wrote at johnkassnews..

“As Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson’s approval ratings continue to drop—he’s now at 14 percent but he still has more room to keep on falling—the nicknames began to trickle out along with the mockery.

“It started with Mayor Panic Attacks, because I’m told the man is debilitated by crushing panic attacks that I’ve been writing about for months. This illustrates that governing a big city isn’t only about issuing left-wing slogans to satisfy his white neo-Marxist base and among Chicago’s left-wing media. I mean, how many newsroom votes are out there? Enough to keep him in power?

“No.

“The red ink of budgets drowning in debt is not soothed by slogans.

My new favorite nickname for Johnson is Black Lenin, on account of his knee-jerk and thoughtless Marxism. He rather resembles Lenin, doesn’t he? With that beard and the mad gleam in the eye.”

Pritzker, meanwhile, has also made a fool of himself. Pritzker doesn’t get a cool nickname like Black Lenin. He’s Gov. Fatboy, aka Gov. Commodius Maximus, on account of that failed property-tax scheme (swindle) of his that I just might explain again and again if he even THINKS seriously about buying his way into the White House.

And Illinois residents are fleeing as fast as they can.

“A Wall Street Journal editorial said he (Johnson) was the worst mayor in the country,” said my friend, political analyst Thom Serafin. “The mayor is a real gentleman, but he’s getting advice from folks who I think don’t have his best welfare at heart. You have to surround yourself with a good staff in office, and sometimes they take the same people they were with on campaign into the government offices, and it’s two lines of work: like hiring a welder to do electrician’s work.”

Clearly neither Pritzker or Johnson are surrounded by capable union electricians or welders not even a good garbage man or union firefighter. And there are no capable sorcerers since Obama has burned them all up.

It’s all hot air and smoke up the behind as Chicago dies, taking Illinois down with it.

But fools sit placidly, smiling.

There is nothing quite like a fool in the corner. The smile is endearing.  If you ignore them, they might amuse themselves by breaking wind. But you can’t run a city or a state on wind from a fool.

And eventually, voters get tired of it. First they tune out the fools. They stop listening. And then they move away.

  1. Grew up in Roseland during the fifties and early sixties. Then, the City of New Orleans would be running into the city, chock full of 13.2% ers. Now, we all pay the price. Entertaining that the Tribune I once thought was a great paper, has been sold so many times, that it’s reputation has been destroyed. When your editorial page consists of that clown Clarence, one would think they’d know they’re in trouble.
Thanks again for a great piece.

    1. Clarence Page was always a gentleman, a good colleague even though we disagreed on politics. What frosts me is the Tribune’s complete capitulation to the left.

  2. What a fool this Governor is. People break into our homes, they murder and kill children, and walk in the Country without knowing who they are and now they are protecting them? How about us that work hard to pay you Governor. Power is God’s not yours. Help your Brother, help the poor, share what you have with the less fortunate we come on Earth with nothing and we will leave with nothing.
He is after Power. How about helping the American Citizen that works hard to pay you and are poor. So sad. The Poor always are the last to be considered by the Rich. Great job as always John. Always tell the truth lots of folks do not want to hear the truth.

  3. Johnson is in over his head. He may be well meaning, but he has no political sense and is being used by the Democrats like Pritzker and Periwinkle as the fall guy for the Democrats ‘ schemes to line their pockets. Pritzker is a buffoon. He looks and acts the part. Didn’t both take an oath of office to uphold the law to the best of their ability? Why do the illegals have more rights than the citizens of this country? It says a lot about the voters of Illinois when they elect as governor a person who tries to buy his way into a Senate seat (and doesn’t get the position but gets away with the crime). Pritzker needs to join the long list of Illinois politicians indicted and tried for corruption. The whole mess in Illinois can be laid at the feet of Micheal Madigan who destroyed this state with his lust for power. Those who are here legally have nothing to fear from the Trump administration. Those who are terrified have good reason to be terrified – their free ride is about to end.

    1. Actually lot of people thought that Madigan was the Governor before he stepped down. And no one really knew who this buffoon Pritzker was although they voted democratic in the elections. It’s only after Madigan left office and the arrival of Covid -19 and when Pritzker got coached every morning and came out on to the video and blabbered about how many people died and what precautions the public shall make, was then the people got to recognize/realize he was the Governor!
Actually Illinois and hence Chicago would be in good hands if Madigan was Governor.

  4. For many years, you were the only reason that I subscribed to the Chicago Tribune, Mr. Kass. Thank you for this article because, well, slow-motion train wrecks are mesmerizing, after all. We escaped Chicagoland as soon as my wife retired and we sold our home, fist-pumping as we drove under the “Welcome to Indiana” sign on I-294 to more sensible conservative climes. Our mission today is to warn the good people of the Southeast how never, ever to become like Illinois.

  5. “The Mayor is a real gentleman…” – Thom, Mr. Serafin, puh-leeeze! Learn to read the room! We are so past the point of finding it necessary to insert a compliment in an otherwise blistering Bill of Indictment just so the miscreant Corruptocrats will attend certain holiday parties!

  6. Γιάννη,
I like to refer to our feckless leaders as tweedle-dumb, and tweedle-dee, take your pick! Both Governor Maximus and Mayor Pannix are in over their socialist heads, drowning in their own bull-s–t! They are clueless as to what’s going on around them, and throughout America. Voters are fed up with sucking up to illegals, criminals, and demand we take the country back from leftist, evil perpetrators that sought only to inflate voter demographics. As the bodies of the city and state continue to fester, who will come forth with a spine and “αρχιδια” to finally oversee the demise of the Chicago Way? Paul was our only hope for Chicago, but I don’t see anyone on the horizon in the near future stepping up for Illinois either. Maybe Alexi? Stay tuned…

    1. Are you referring to the esteemed Secretary of State for Illinois? The guy who says you can do all your business with the State of Illinois on your computer so he can get rid of staff and add a service charge for the privilege of handing over your money? The guy whose office just conveniently never gets forms and checks send to his office in the mail?
The guy who wants to limit service to the public and wants you to check the Secretary of State website to see when your vehicle sticker is due and pay online rather than mail the forms out? Please explain how he is better than all the above politicians other than he hasn’t been caught yet.

    2. Another viewpoint to consider: Both Pritzker and Johnson are VERY aware of what’s going on around them…..but they don’t care!!! They are both so well insulated (literally and figuratively) that the growing sentiments of the “people out there” don’t really matter! Neither one of those men cares what the voters think. Johnson has a direct pipeline – an open link – to the CTU, and they tell him when to zip his pants. Their united might in the city is all he needs to listen to and hide behind. The Governor is bulwarked by his money and how eager the Democrat party is to avail themselves of his largesse. Who paid to bring the Convention here? Who ‘bought’ the Super Delegate credentials? Who uses his own cash to keep the money flume greasy enough (see what I did there?) as the cash pours into Illinois from Washington. It’s a happy money circle. He “blesses” the party and the “party” ships uncountable dollars here for him to sprinkle about the state, ‘blessing’ those who toe his line. Just look where he sends campaign donations in state and local elections. Some think he purposely sponsors the weakest, least electable Republican so the “win” is more obvious for his side – – – but I don’t know. Hmmm. Do you REALL Y think he’d stoop to that? I don’t because I don’t think he can ‘stoop’…..there must be another way.

The accompanying question must be: Who EXACTLY is benefitting from the cash that swirls around this ardent enthusiasm for protecting the illegals and being so up-front about willingness to fight the feds on this one. Where is all that money REALLY going?

One example? Our friends at Catholic Charities gets over half a BILLION dollars a year. Their distribution system has Chicago as #16 on the list of their dioceses who get cash. Washington, D.C. leads with $1,552.9M. Chicago is down at $116M a year. IN ADDITION, the USCCB (U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops) last year got $1,578.2M. Additional federal money went to “Catholic Missions”, to the Jesuits, to Caritas and to something called “DirAcctDioc.” It’s only money, friends. It’s only money.

  7. Another powerhouse column, JK. It inspires me. Since Illinois’ prime fools believe in opportunity and choice, they should have the opportunity to choose from multiple nicknames:

    Gov. Lunar Eclipse
    Gov. Checks For Churches
    Gov. Hablo Españolish
    Gov. Bust My Buttons
    Gov. Taxes For Terror
    Gov. Burp

    Mayor School Strike Central
    Mayor Pardon My Parolees
    Mayor Pretty Panic
    Mayor Debt Dandy
    Mayor CTU-tiful
    Mayor Oops

  8. OMG that photo! I rarely see photos of Pritzker without his suit jacket, but it looks like a huge pillow is stuffed in there! I will never forget his endless emergency declarations during COVID, keeping our kids out of school for almost two years while our morbidly obese Governor continually lectured everyone else on how to stay healthy. I pray that voters never let this incompetent, destructive, undisciplined man see the inside of the Oval Office. (And on a separate note, I too was surprised by Serafin’s reference to Johnson as a gentleman. Huh???)

    1. Ohhh, don’t forget that while he kept our kids out of school, and out of sports, and demanded all Illinoisans stay out of Wisconsin and Indiana, HIS daughter was competing in equestrian events all over the US (except of course, those cancelled in Illinois), and his famiy regularly traveled to both Florida and Wisconsin.

And then there’s that funny tale (yes, a friend of mine was there) where he went to a restaurant in Fontana WI during the Covid lockdowns, and tried to glad hand people inside… most of whom were from Illinois and who immediately took their orders to go and left rather than be in his presence.

The stories never end – sadly for those still trapped in Illinois.

  9. Great read. The first thing that popped into my mind as I was reading was the old saying “Fools rush in where wise men fear to tread.” We are and have been governed by fools.
How deaf, dumb, and blind does the Tribune have to be? They can’t give the paper away for free.
    Thanks.

  10. The Chicago Sun Times, The Tribune, WGN and WTTW have pounded Fear, Confusion and Racism down the throats of their public ( low-information voters of Illinois) about the bad Orange Man every day, in every article and sound byte since the election.

Gimple the Blimple and Mayor Pinhead will continue to have their mandate of the dimmed, until every people hold the media accountable. Mr. Low-Info has gotta have his sports and comics!!! What’s a citizen to do?

If you are stoked to fear by the words of Gimp the Blinp, Pinhead, Schumer, Tapper, CNN, MSNBC, Public radio and TV, just wait until your shadow disappears at noon every day. Then you’ll really have something to cry about.

  11. Very good analysis and comments today in Kassville.
I submit Governor Gargantua Grande perhaps fancies himself as a biblical giant fish, who is swallowing the foundering hordes of illegal alien Jonahs, to prevent their drowning in the Gulf of Trump’s America. I hope Tom Homan has an adequate test line to boat him.

  12. What a great way to start a birthday. Another Kass column doing what he does best: calling out the fools as they so rightly deserve. Thanks John. Keep em coming.

  13. Brandon is so busy being led around by the leash of CTU President Stacey Gates(who moved out of Illinois to a friendlier state, Indiana, for cheaper taxes and better schools) that he doesn’t get it. I see that the Local Democrats have brought in Notable Throat hound Rahm to try to get them some Gonads and save the Marxist control of Chiraque and Illinois.

  14. We can bitch, bitch, bitch all we want. But blacks will vote for blacks, hence the Black Lenin will win if his opposition is white politician, like last election. CTU RUNS THE CITY. Case closed. There will be no significant change in our life time. The few black citizens that complain in city hall chambers are maybe a dozen. The rest of the black chumbolones will be given their marching orders on Election day. Check the voting stats in the last general election. Case closed. Accept the facts: Chgo ain’t ready for reform.

  15. After decades of aborting their future voters, the Dems engineered the broken border to restock their voter base. Chicago, with more residents fleeing, needs the illegals as dependent voters. But Chicago also sees it as a double-play ball. More illegals = more students = more teachers = more union dues = more money for Dem political campaigns.

  16. So much has been said about illegal immigration and our newfound enforcement against it.
Everything you said, John, we completely agree.
But something is not being asked: Why is there virtually no discussion about the need to impose sanctions on employers? If employees were properly vetted the numbers of illegals being hired would plummet. Right?
There currently is the I-9 form.
Form I-9: Employment Eligibility Verification Department of Homeland Security
But is mostly a “wink, wink-nudge, nudge” thing. When I was a employer our new hires completed the form and furnished the required ID’s. But was simply filed in our office and never sent in. Never!
The I-9 form is joke, probably by design.
    Here it is: https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-9.pdf

  17. As always, John, fabulous column and right on the money! Looking forward to the confrontation between the Trump administration and Governor Pudge!! And hearing what Mayor Useless has to say now that he’s been called to testify!!

  19. Since the discussion has turned in part to the local media, I feel it necessary to point out that both PBS and NPR are in large part taxpayer funded. I ask why should our dollars fund these far-left propagandist entities? I would hope that Trump will rightly demand that Congress end this immediately.

  20. John, I’m a new subscriber to your site. I’m a lifelong (1951-2013) Chicago suburbanite, born in Chicago, who grew up loving the city for its culture and beauty. Over my lifetime, I have witnessed its deterioration of leadership, from the glory days of Hizzoner the Mare to the current fool occupying City Hall. Ditto, the “progress” of leadership of the State of Illinois. My wife and I voted with our feet in 2013, decamping from Byron, IL to Bradenton, FL after the “temporary” state income tax increased from 3 to 5 percent. I hated the heat and hurricanes of Florida, though I found the politics and taxes temperate. Our final (I’ll be buried here) relocation was to the free Volunteer State of Tennessee in November 2019. I can’t get a good Chicago Dog or Beef or gyros around here without ordering online, but grits, gravy, greens, and anything chicken-fried have grown on me.

I still love the City, but I grieve for its current state and the probability of its continued decline.

I grew up reading Chicago’s once-great newspapers, the Tribune, the Sun Times, and the Daily News. I loved reading Mike Royko’s columns because he never failed to roast eminently deserving Chicago and Illinois politicians. I may have missed your time at the Tribune, John, but you seem to have taken up the mantle from Mike.

    Thank you!

  21. What a blessing to be able to have a source and an author like John Kass to provide information, curated statistics and information, and wise opinion. As we concern ourselves collectively with what has happened to ‘media’ writ large – in our case the parade being led by the late, great Chicago Tribune, it is important that we keep up with some of the other black holes in our pathway. We know that both of the CBS Radio outlets here in Chicago – WBBM, 78.0 and WBBM-FM, 103.9 – are both owned by AUDACY. The largest radio network in the country. AUDACY, among other things, owns the sixteen largest 50,000 watt (largest permitted in this country) radio stations. We’d better be aware that AUDACY was nearly broke, reorganized themselves……and guess who bought 40% of the entire system? George Soros. Umm-hmmm.

  22. Since Reagan was fooled into giving 5 million illegals amnesty in the mid 80’s (D’s promised tougher border policies would follow, they lied) We have seen as many as 30 million people come here off the books, some left , some come and go regularly.
Their children know no other country than the USA , having been brought here as a child. WE can’t/won’t/shouldn’t kick down the doors of 30 million people. That does not mean we can’t stop the bleeding and the insanity of 40 years of open borders, with the last 4 being the crescendo.
    HUMANE IMMIGRATION REFORM
    1) Set “here by ” date (1/21/21?)
    2) Vet every asylum seeker (felons go to GAZA)
    3) photo ID, fingerprint and DNA sample
    4) Anyone brought under the age of 18 can applu for citizenship with military service as the ONLY fast track.
    5) QAnyone who came as an adult may apply for permanent guest VISA’s, they forfeit citizenship and get a 1 time pardon for ID theft.
    6) No taxpayer funds for college or welfare (private is allowed)
    7) After 1/21/21, if you come here illegally, you will be returned to your country and may never return for any reason (work, family, medical, business, vacation, immigration or diplomacy)
8 FELONY gets you deported to GAZA.
    9) Increase immigration to the amount of people WE NEED. with a priority to this hemisphere if possible. OUR NEEDS, NOT THEIRS.
    10) Build the WALL, dig a moat, E-Verify and charge the country of origin for all costs of the process.

    Embrace immigration, like an adult.

  23. Gov Fat-head’s worst nightmare is the Chief Restructuring Officer, which is exactly what Trump is, as I hoped. The first thing you do, after you take control from the previous leadership, is shut down cash. That is also the first step, to driving cultural change, from “vicious cycle” to “virtuous cycle” as I learned from a Master Turnaround guy. Getting rid of scum, expensive scum, also step one.

JB would run to Trump if he flopped out of bed one morning and learned that his net worth had been halved. So would his sister Penny, of Harvard.

Speaking of Harvard, how is the City of Dolton going to cover the Charles River Group’s consulting fees for discovering after a year, what any turnaround firm would have discovered in a week, that Tiffany Henyard was hiding expenses. Who is going to pay that.

    These gosh darn Coastals

  24. John says “… Pritzker and Johnson are thwarting the law.” But here’s the thing. They may be hindering (thwarting) ICE from accomplishing their goal, but as long as they do not interfere with federal agents it is perfectly legal and neither Fatboy or Lenin will be put in leg irons. Because the ultimate law of the land is the US Constitution. And the “anticommandeering” interpretation of the 10th amendment – sanctified ironically by none other than by the Godfather of Original Intent, the late Justice Antonin Scalia – is quite specific. The Feds can not commandeer or force the state or its agents (such as the police) to assist in its mission. In other words Guv. Fatboy and Mayor Lenin – despicable as they are – can legally refuse to help or assist ICE. Of course under the law they cannot actively hinder or impede ICE, that would be illegal. But they have no legal obligation to assist. Ironic now how all of a sudden, Guv. Fatboy and Mayor Lenin are all about state’s rights!

    1. Somewhat darkly humorous hearing the Governor in the last two days whining about the fact that ICE has not been in touch with him at all; has given him no information about their current or pending operations. Oh, stop it, JB! For how many weeks have you been telling us you have no intention of helping, you plan to block every effort possible, these “good citizens” of Illinois deserve your protection, etc……and now you want ICE to tell you what they’re planning? What might be in those “special treats” you must be enjoying????

What will be of some interest will be how much money these immigrants, no matter their status, are going to be asked to contribute to the debt mess here in this state: Illinois’s debt service for general obligation bonds in fiscal year 2025 is projected to be $1.670 billion. Illinois’s pension debt is one of the worst in the nation, at over $143 billion. Not many realize that especially that pension debt is an obligation ultimately of the PEOPLE of Illinois. Will be fun to see what kind of a pretzel the state will turn itself into to extract that money from the people of Illinois….might want to rethink where you want to put down roots! This one could cost you BIGLY!

      1. Knowing the delusional progressives in this state, I am sure the “immigrants” will be asked to contribute no money. Rather “white privilege” folks like me will be asked to pay their “fair share.” Of course Guv. Fatboy could ask retirees to pay their fair share – which they currently do not – but that may upset his public sector union friends.

As far as the debt goes, Illinois, although it cannot declare bankruptcy, can not be prevented from declaring insolvency … just like Arkansas 90 years ago or so. Chicago, like Detroit, however is on the path to bankruptcy. The federal Covid bonanza blow out bought Illinois and Chicago some time. But that is over.

Of course under a Democratic administration, Chicago and Illinois polls were hoping for a federal bailout. That hope, looks less hopeful under a Republican administration. Moral hazard you know.

In 1975 Ford initially told NYC the Feds would not bail them out with the apocryphal headline “Ford to NYC, Drop Dead.” This time it won’t be apocryphal if Trump says it to Illinois/Chicago.

  25. Maybe Gov. Obese-Man and illegal immigration supporting comrades at the Tribune can invite the border-jumpers to live with them. Fat chance. Pun intended.
