What Happened to the Women, the Mothers of America, with the Wolves at the Door?

There was one thing you knew one thing to be true when you were a child: Your mother would defend you with her life.

Or, if she was absent, the other women in the family would step forward toward the threat, the aunts and grandmothers. Even if all they had were spoons to face the wolves, they would defend you.

Why?

You were theirs.

No matter the year, no matter what the politics were at the time, Democrats or Republicans in the White House, Congressmen accusing each other of corruption or stupidity, or if there were wars or if there was peace, no matter what the reason. It was deeper than all of that.

The women were compelled to defend you, and the aunts and the fathers and uncles and brothers, because you were helpless and you were the future of the family, of the clan, of the tribe.

Without you, without the young, there was no future for your people.

So they fought for you rather than die.

But now what has happened to those women? Where did they go?

Their children need them. And there are worse than wolves out there. Consider:

The deadly poison called fentanyl–brought by China and finished in Mexico–illegally imported across the non-existent U.S. border with Mexico continues to kill young Americans. More than 100,000 died this past year. Fentanyl overdose is the single leading killer of young Americans.

Consider 100,000 dead killed by an enemy. Now name that enemy. You can hear the blood curdling screams of the mothers, can’t you?

But in America we have difficulty naming the enemy, lest we be expected to do something about it, or so the ruling bi-partisan Combine that rules the U.S. Senate seems to think.

So where are the mothers screaming, demanding an end to the open border? Where are the women to fill the corridors of governments, staging sit-ins, splashing red paint on themselves, chanting as they did when the subject was abortion and they screamed at the Supreme Court for daring to send the issue where it could be decided by the states?

Their children are dying. More than one hundred thousand have been murdered by the Mexican drug cartels and the Chinese. Where are the women shouting against the Democrats and the president who has allowed the open borders, where are their screams that fentanyl will not be allowed to kill their children?

Where are they now?

They don’t need any spoons. Or wolves. All they need  are themselves. Their presence.

But where are they? I’m told they are out there and silently angry, but I have my doubts as to whether they care or not. We were assured that self-preservation would have sent them out as part of the much-anticipated “Red Wave” mid-term election of 2022, but there was no wave, only a splash that broke upon the Democrat pro-abortion rocks.

The single ones rushed to elect Democrats and protect their “rights” to take the lives of their babies. And what did their mothers do?

Meanwhile, the abortion mills continued taking the lives of the innocent unborn children.

What happened to the women? Where did they go?

And now another feature of the grotesque times we live in: Transgender Boxers and Biological Males competing in physical combat against women.

Where are the women?

Women’s athletics were critically important once to the well rounded development of young women and the complete development of young men, as they cheered on their sisters and other women athletes. But the transgender politics of the left has killed all that.

Pro-transgender pressure groups have intimidated Americans into silence on the issue. Transgender athlete  University of Pennsylvania Lia Thomas–a biological male–destroyed his competition in “women’s swimming” and destroyed the sport.  The female athletes and their families were intimidated into silence. And now the trans left has a new holy grail to pursue.

Biological men competing against biological women in the boxing ring. You know what will happen? Visit a morgue. Look at a homicide victim, a woman beaten to death. The dark bruises. The windpipes broken. Breathing passages smashed. It happens every day.

But now they want to call it sport for money, for their glory, and they want you silent.

They want you silent in acquiescence. In compliance.

Where are the women, the mothers? And where are the fathers I remember at the soccer fields and softball diamonds cheering their daughters on? I loved watching my nieces like I loved watching the boys. They loved their daughters participating in athletics. In Chicago, girls’ sports were part of community and parish life.

Now, crickets.

Don’t they dare condemn what the political left has done to our culture and to the lives of those they love?

USA Boxing, the governing body of the sport in the U.S., will not allow biological men to compete against biological women in the boxing ring.

Boxers under the age of 18 still must compete against their birth gender, but older boxers under the new policy included in the 2024 rule book, male boxers who transition can compete in the female category so long as they meet certain criteria. Adults must complete “gender reassignment” surgery (meaning castration for males) but that still doesn’t address the main difference between biological female and biological male athletes:

Power and force.

These are developed by bone density and muscle mass, and it is all built and developed in the human physical machine through puberty. According to studies by the National Institutes of Health, a punch by a man has 162 percent force than a punch thrown by a woman. 

Just study the physics. I understand the trans politics of intimidation and shaming that has silenced women and men when it comes to males competing against women in swimming. It is the same fear of shaming that keeps those corporate fathers silent. It is the same fear that that compelled Anheuser-Busch into silence as executives there selected transgender Dylan Mulvaney as “spokesmodel” for Bud Light and so destroyed their brand and cost so many jobs.

Who drinks Bud Light? No matter how much they pay Peyton Manning to shill for it, American men won’t drink it.

On Fox News, the champion female swimmer Riley Gaines ridiculed USA Boxing officials and those trans-politicos who defend it.

“Of course, we all know this. I don’t even have to have a science degree to know this. This is basic common knowledge,” said Gaines. “And let me be the first to say women are not just a testosterone level. And we’re not just men who merely don’t have male genitalia, which is the policy that USA Boxing has in place now. Of course, we know in regard to this topic, we know about the unfair competition aspect. But the safety of women has been compromised by USA Boxing’s new policies and guidelines.

“And I think my biggest problem with this new implementation is that we are now glorifying men — we’re calling them champions, we’re giving them titles, they’re winning prize money — for punching women in the face,” Gaines said. “That’s the purpose of boxing or MMA, any fighting sport that requires physical contact like boxing does. We’re glorifying that. We’re calling it progressive. Make no mistake, this is not progress. This is not moving us in the positive, forward direction. This is incredibly regressive. This is taking us back in time and it’s utterly misogynistic.”

Mike Tyson, the former heavyweight champion once said, “Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.”

Many years ago I had a fantasy: That I would become the boxing writer and food critic for a major metropolitan newspaper. Boxing and combat was one of the manly virtues, along with courage and temperance. You have to control yourself in the ring. I did a little fighting. I like it. And I learned how to take a punch, at a few small karate tournaments.

I never fought a killer like Tyson, not even my younger brother Nick, but I know what it’s like to have my broken jaw wired shut for weeks.

Now I suppose I’d throw my cane at them and scream.

Mike Tyson is correct. Everybody has a plan until they take one in the mouth. But how many of us can remember what it was like to take a punch? Even in a kid schoolyard fight?

The culture has changed. School yard fighting has been outlawed. Even talking about something we once called a “manly virtue” is now outlawed. Now the masculine virtues are considered the province of women. And men? They’ve been brutalized by the phrase “toxic masculinity,” and now they’re encouraged to stay silent as transgender athletes–with power and bone density and muscle mass–compete against their much weaker daughters.

They say nothing. They remain quiet, corporately afraid to defend their daughters and perhaps lose their social standing in the suburban Chardonnay ANTIFA.

Once most men knew what it was like to throw a punch in anger. We watched a big prizefight, most Americans could relate. Not now. We don’t even know how to discuss it or explain it any longer. We’ve lost the words for it. We’ve forgotten. Our muscle memory has been lost. The muscles themselves have atrophied. Our language to describe the action has been lost.

It was our mom who told us to square off and fight to protect each other, to protect our family, our girl cousins, the defenseless. Teachers oncer understood boys and how they played and competed.

The new generation of public educators seem at odds with and afraid of boys, as if they’re a bother, wild creatures to be controlled, feared, dominated, tamed and gentled before any of that “toxic masculinity” takes root. Colleges of education are dominated by the political left and have been for generations.

Now kids don’t square off and start punching. You’ve seen the videos on social media: They don’t fight fairly, one-on-one, instead they stomp loners to death in feral screeching mobs and claim they’re the victims of oppression; or they grab guns and spray the playgrounds in mass shootings and claim they’re the victims of oppression.

And the women?

Where did they go? What happened to the mothers?

Where are they?

The hands that rocked the cradle once ruled the world. But now, as the Southern border remains open allowing all that poison in from China and Mexico; and women athletes with the Olympic fighting spirit are warned to keep their mouths shut lest they be denounced and silenced by the pro-transgender lobby, all we hear is quiet.

All we hear is silence from the women, from mothers just when they’re needed most, with snow on the ground and the wolves outside the door, scratching, scratching, scratching to get inside.

While I’m with you on the Trans issue in sports, I take issue with todays post regarding fentanyl. 90% of fentanyl and other deadly drugs arrives in our country through official “Ports of Entry”. As of 2021, 86% of the people convicted of trafficking fentanyl across the border were U.S. citizens. As for the border, If someone wants to come into our country follow the guidelines period. There is a growing movement in Texas for them to secede from the Union. Great, let it happen ! Then most of problems of our border security becomes the problem of the country of Texas.

  3. The women continue to rock cradles and ladle out the stew. However, the starchy harpies on PBS reflect solely on abortions and the elimination of soul from human life. The jewelry pierced and tattooed Amazons on Disney films are far less attractive than Jane Darwell or Hattie McDaniel.

    Watch old movies, Citizens. Character has been thoroughly eliminated from character actors and replaced by memes.

    I ask instead where are the men? Not a Ward Bond in the bunch.

Because I lived in a 3 flat purchased by my mom and dad and aunt and uncle growing up in Chicago’s Montclare neighborhood, I had two of these warrior women you reference who protected their young ones, my beautiful mother, Madelyn Stramaglio, and my wonderful aunt who lived upstairs, Ernestine (Dolly) Bellino – how’s that for a female warrior’s name ? You are correct. They would step in front of a train to protect me and my siblings and cousins. News flash – they’re gone! They started a precipatous decline around 1973. What landmark case came down in 1973? 🤔

      Funny you writing about where all the mothers have gone – I was blessed by have three older sisters, the oldest of which had a great right cross, which she wielded with authority. She was our “boss” and rightly so. We went to school together, and no one messed with me our my sibs, cause everyone knew we took no guff from bullies of any gender! Our mother basically told us to avoid fighting, but if someone hits – you hit em back harder, and end the argument. We didn’t turn the other cheek! And that was that, no more bullying.

      In any event, I know I’m really old school, but if it has a penis, it’s a male, and if it possesses a vagina it’s a female – nuff said. When I grew up in Portage Park hood, if you were bullied and the nuns found out , and the bully was in the parochial school, it would end FAST. HOWEVER, if it continued or the bully was a CPS student and a dad found out, like mine did, he got in his car and went to each bully’s house and had a SERIOUS TALK with their dad. RARELY, was there a problem later.

    Too many are defending those who bring in the fentenyl, or who belong to those feral screeching mobs. “My baby didn’t do anything wrong. My baby was (insert nice sounding way to earn money or to deal with being harmed by others).”

    And those mothers routinely shout down the mothers of those their spawn have damaged, who have been taught to be too polite to shout back.

  9. As I have wondered many times, where is everyone, where are the Moms and Dads who have lost a child to this unconscionable injustice being forced upon the citizens of this Country.

    On this past New Year’s Eve, very dear friends of mine in Phoenix had their hearts ripped open by the act of someone slipping something into the drinks of party guests at her home. Their twin sons, both adults, were attending this party and were the unwitting victims of this evil act. The other went to take his dog for a walk. He was not so lucky because nobody found him in time. He was a father of 2 beautiful children.

    Our Legislators, our President, our Homeland Security Chief, are all, everyone of them to blame and should be held accountable. But they look away and say there is not a problem here to see.

    And a family in Phoenix grieves and weeps for the son, brother, and father they have lost.

  10. I agree. Where are all the women who would be up in arms over the transgender policies? Local moms get upset when someone accidentally brings peanut butter cookies because of a nut allergy; or five minutes late at school pickup. But something like men competing in women’s sports they are remarkably quiet. Ditto goes for the horrendous atrocities committed on October 7th.
    Standards and Character is gone. In our new world order, glitz and glamour carries the day.
    As for Bud Light: just remember that the C levels are mostly Harvard Grads. Enough said!

  11. As a former teacher, I can tell you that mothers are out there defending their children.

    They are defending their children’s lack of attention (e.g. “He’s a genius and needs more stimulation”). They defend why homework isn’t completed (e.g. “Her volleyball team played last night). They defend doing their kid’s work completed in their own handwriting (e.g. “I was just helping”). They appreciate rules and consequences regarding plagiarism until their own kid is caught, and then they demand that the principal fire. They compose three page emails in all caps at 2 a.m. defending their child’s inappropriate arguing with you and claim you have it out for their kid. Then right before graduation, they ask for a letter of recommendation from you, so their kid can get into a wonderful Catholic high school.

    If these examples sound very specific, it’s because they all happened to me.

    My favorite was the parent who wanted me to bring all the answer keys and sit in a room with her and her husband while I regraded EVERY paper for the past quarter because I must have made a mistake. All because his grade in English caused him to miss getting to wear a special ribbon at 8th grade graduation. Keep in mind, all of the students’ assignment grades were posted online; and, it was a rule at our school that at least two graded assignments per week were posted. In other words, there were no surprises about their kid’s grades all quarter long.

    I would love to tell you that the female principal of the Catholic school where I worked defended me and had my back. After all, my students’ standardized test scores were usually high. But, instead, she let the parents pounce like lions on a baby wildebeest because “they needed to blow off steam, I took my job too seriously, and being Catholic means compassion.” She didn’t even think the last parents mentioned were out of line and actually expected me to regrade all the student’s work with the parents present. In her defense, the principal was compassionate enough to get me a sub, so I could do what the parents demanded. They were, of course, huge donors to the school and were “hiring a lawyer.” Instead, I copied every key and sent them home. The tutor they hired couldn’t find any errors on my part, and they dropped the harassment without apology.

    Where are the mothers? They want to be friends with their kids and defend every poor choice of their children as someone else’s fault. Those children, in turn, grow up entitled, arrogant, and lacking work ethic. In time, they become the next generation’s mothers or Claudine Gays. Lord help us all.

    1. I would break my kids’ legs before I would let them become school teachers like Mater et Pater.

      No one has a teacher’s back. The really bad teachers flourish ( Catholic & Public schools) and the very good ones are weighted down like a tinker’s donkey.

      I job coach. No money but 100% joy from the Autistic and Downs Syndrome angels. The art of teaching has been destroyed, The money is very good and plenty of time off. Were I to return to classroom, it would be very brief and probably end with my sporting and orange jumpsuit.

  13. We didn’t have helicopter moms. But we knew moms were nearby in a pinch.. At the park the moms sat discretely away from us kids. They’d let a playground tussle continue unless it was a bully starting things. And then they’d wade in and quickly cuff the offender. If a mom in my neighborhood worked, she left the pierogis or the minestrone or the pot of pasta on the stove for her kids to heat up and serve. I can’t think of a single instance where a boy in our grade school or our 3,600 student HS ever hit a girl. It was unthinkable, even as sport.

  14. The helicopter parents situation didn’t seem too much of a thing in the 60s and 70s when I grew up. My mother always said, “fight your own battles, but don’t start them”, but she definitely was there if needed.

    It’s such a different world today. Every institution and every system has been infected by progressive ideology . The screeching “victims” have outsized influence and mob mentality rules the day. I have no problem with representation or visibility for any ethnic or cultural minority, but we lost our way when we threw common sense and merit out the window. Heck, the parental involment since Covid has seen some of them get arrested and/or investigated as domestic terrorists.

    The answer to your question as to “where are the women”…..they are there, moms, aunts and grandmoms….They have seen the torment of their children on both coasts as to problems in their schools and came out swinging in many ways and also at the ballot box.

    The problem with Fentanyl is, the women don’t physically see the crashing of a wide body airplane killing 300 a day EVERY DAY. Fentanyl is the dirty secret that these women “hope” will not visit their children, yet have not stormed the gates to repel this enemy….Why? My only guess is that it has not visited them in their home on a mass basis and is still that dirty secret of the Biden Administration that DOES NOT CARE as to the lack of a border.

    I have spoken to some of my children and they pooh-pooh this also. They are so involved with the everyday business of not caring if it is not at their door step, not only confuses me, but angers me. I shall keep talking and doing what I can with words as my mobility is totally lacking. It is hell to get older and see the ding dang world collapsing into the degradation all around us wondering when these younger generations are going to wake up and do their best to make our America much better and stronger.
    I just exhaled and will rest here as these words come hard sometime in realizing what America means to me and what it should mean to all others.

  16. Has anyone ever noticed its always trans “women” competing against natural born girls and never trans “men” competing against natural born men? I wonder why? Women have to straighten out this mess themselves. When there is an event that admits trans athletes, EVERY girl who is going to compete should REFUSE and forfeit the match. If all of the girls forfeit the match these governing bodies would get the message. Sometimes a girl has to stand up for herself, ya know?

  18. A man competing against a woman is “just not right” and on top of that, it is extremely poor “sportsmanship “. Do these boneheads have any “sportsmanship” sense?

  19. Well money is the great equalizer. Money does talk. Bud-Light reversed course. It is now the “official” beer of the most macho of sports and sports leagues: MMA in the UFC. Here a few financial punches to the ole Bud-Light bottom line actually “awokened” Bud-Light to a brilliant plan. So the obit of Bud-Light may have been written prematurely. Bud-Light is happy. Dana White is happy. What about the UFC fans? Are they now drinking the brew? We’ll see how it plays out.

    Mothers whose children are at risk from fentanyl aren’t very different from mothers whose children are at risk from heroin. I can’t imagine an adult whose child succumbs to heroin mounting an existential-quest to end fentanyl – they already lost: the only difference between the two is that there aren’t any 40-year-old fentanyl addicts.

    Woman’s sports was never a thing like men’s sports. This has more to do with anthropology and history than anything else. Woman’s sports is fairly recent, and used to have a good end. Given the current obesity crisis, it’s extremely important for woman to participate in sports, to get into the mindset of “pushing” themselves to be healthy. I have no idea why women would give this up, other than it’s too recent for most to appreciate. There’s plenty of thinking in our society for letting woman have their own participation pools: ‘Woman who code’, ‘Woman executive training’, etc. Woman’s sports is a participation pool whose necessity can be empirically-justified.

    There’s a huge difference between how a child with an active mother and father can develop, and how a child with only an active mother can develop. The population of children in these 2 divergent groups is roughly the same. Mom’s can’t model what it means for a boy to stand up for himself, or measure/de-escalate his response to violence. This isn’t because women are idiots – it’s because a boy can’t picture himself getting into a fight as his mom. Because of this unspoken dynamic, single-moms can only be scared to death of getting the problem phone call from school, and having to answer for their child’s behavior.

    But when you get out on the athletic field, pool, ring or mat you are either an “XX” or “XY” and the competition should be defined as “XX” v. “XX” or “XY” v. “XY”. Anything else is cheating, and they know it.

  22. You’ve touched on many points in one article. Family, rules, regulations, law all wrapped up in one neat little package, politics. You know as well as all of us that political insanity has ruled the roost for quite some time and does not appear to be waning anytime soon.

    The average “normal” citizen is in fear of being called out and embarrassed for having spoke up. Fear of going against the norm. Ask Paul Vallas how that worked out for him. Sanity has no standing in the current rule book.

    Until rock bottom is hit this will continue. Many would argue that we hit that level long ago. Perhaps. But we all know that human nature lets us go a little further until it personally affects us. Until we become the victim. Until we’ve been hurt by this nonsense.

    So, to answer all the questions in your article. No where. No one had gone anywhere. Everyone is still there. They’re just SILENT. You are hearing silence. Simon & Garfunkel said it best in 1964. The Sound of Silence

I know so many Mothers young and old that do not seem to care about their kids or grandkids behavior. Society is in charge, the Schools and Social Media push transgenders in our kids faces, Mothers do not seem to fight that, they want to be their kids buddy not Parents with brains and teaching right from wrong. I have been telling you that Michelle Obama will run, she hates Trump she always told us that, I am not for advocating for Trump, just the truth and want my Country back . We have allowed our streets to be taken over by thugs, we have no Borders anymore, Obama said that he would change the face of America, we all heard him say that and he and his wife are doing just that. When is someone with guts start writing the truth about them. They have made our young feel so guilty by working, by going to school and become someone while they call it White Privilege, while Minorities and Illegals get free School Entry into the best Schools and Illegals get free health health and rent while we work to pay for that. Where are the decent humans and why are they not speaking the truth which we grew up with minorities but we had to anger or dislike for anyone of them, we went to school with all Races and we all loved one another and until the Woke and the Obamas came in we were one Country. Now we are told we are the Minority by working hard and making people feel guilty that have the work Ethic, going to school, love one another and trust in the Lord. I have to disagree they are the Racists, they hate America, they want to destroy our Faith and our kids, while the Minorities take over to make money, and Illegals Vote for the Radicals so they never have to run for office again. Someone be honest and start telling the truth about these people while they are destroying our Country, Fentanyl is killing our kids and they do nothing about it. Our Institutions and Corporations are so worried about not having the money to teach that they are giving in to the Woke which is a phony group of people that want to destroy what Black and White has worked so hard for over 300 years to built. Shame on us all, shame on the Parents that do not stand for the rights of their kids, and say oh well Society is changed. Why has Society changed? Because we allowed it and continue to do so until we are no more. The Great Society of the Lyndon Johnson Era started to destroy the wonderful Christian Black family for power and calling White people Racists so they can get their Vote while they kept them poor and Fatherless and they are running and destroying our Streets. It is like talking to a brick and it does not seem to matter anymore, the Mothers are the buddies of their kids, they want to loved and allow them to run their lives not the Mothers. How sad folks. Wake up and tell the Truth and Christ is in charge and he will come and we that know him trust him and he will take care of us. Life is short and precious and what are we leaving behind? Money? What happened to respect and love and Mom was wise and knew what was best for her kids. Sad there is not much left of the American family as we knew it. Thank you John for always doing the right thing and have people tell it the way it is not to be stifled by the Radical Left, and the Minorities that want to destroy us no matter the Color of their skin. They forget God made us who we are, and all their millions will not go with them their kids will spend it to destroy their legacy.   24. Once, many moons ago, when I was in high school (TFN ‘72) I would occasionally get into fist fights after school with other boys. One time, a Youth Officer, by the name of Mike McAuliffe intervened. He got the two of us pugilists into the back seat of his squad. He asked us if we really wanted to fight. Both of us kept quiet. He took us to the school gym and put boxing gloves on us, and told us that if we indeed want to fight, now’s as good a time as ever to start. The two of us just stood there very sheepishly, looking like the fools we were. Thanks Officer McAuliffe. I couldn’t see that happening today, and that’s sad.

  29. There are women who have been so indoctrinated into “liberation” that they have abandoned their children, no doubt.

    There are men who have backed down and have abandoned their women and children.

    We have all seen it, and yet we do know of families still fighting to remain intact. I would wager that most of us here, reading and commenting, are of the “defend to the death” family.

    Let us look deeper into the problem, rather than pointing the finger.

    Our fight is not against humans, no matter how entrenched and brainwashed they are.

    Our fight is, as the Bible clearly states, against the powers and principalities of this dark world.

    Let us fight on our knees, let us speak truth, let us show love and mercy, and let us set an example as we follow the Savior as the Spirit guides us.

  30. My head gets dizzy when I think about-let alone discuss-transgenderism.
    The term has been around since 1965, but has greatly increased in its usage since the 1990s.
    And the use of LGBTQIA+ certainly doesn’t help me and here’s why:
    I was born in 1952. Yeah, yeah; I’m a BOOMER.
    Growing up was very uncomplicated and bullying did not discriminate. You were bullied for being small, poor, fat or “different”.
    Homosexuality of men was kept in the dark spaces. You could show signs, but not be overt. I thought that being gay meant that you had “female tendencies”. I had a roommate when I was hospitalized as a teenager for a football injury who would apply cold creme and face powder every night at bedtime. His mannerisms were effeminate. But I never worried that he was somehow “attracted” to me simply because he was gay and I was a guy. Back then, calling someone “queer” was a deeply derogatory remark and one that would start a fistfight.
    Girls who did guy stuff were called “tom boys”. I had no concept of lesbianism. I just know that I have a sister who was a “tom boy” who protected me, played sports with me and has been single her entire life and I love her dearly. She is the sister that I am closest to and would die for. Again, girls who “liked other girls” were seriously discouraged from displaying any behavior that would bely their “sexual preference”.
    Cross-dressing by men was treated simply as men who liked to dress up in women’s close. What I thought was that men would dress up as a woman, be a woman for that moment in time and then go home and eat Yankee pot roast with his wife and kids. It was an adult version of “dress up”, similar to a Halloween costume.
    Think about it; how many movies did we see where men dressed up as women? The Three Stooges were famous for dressing up as girls/women. What about “Some Like It Hot” with Jack Lemon and Tony Curtis dressing up as women to hobnob with Marilyn Monroe. Hell, I would have done that.
    Probably, the scariest movie was “Dressed to Kill”; a movie where Rod Steiger dresses up as a woman to kill other men and women.
    But that was it. We didn’t call them “drag queens” and we certainly didn’t have “drag queen story hours”. There would have been a full on angry mob moment.
    Anyone with any of those proclivities (gay, lesbian, cross dresser) were identified in our small community; not to target them for bullying, but so as to AVOID them. Mom and Dad didn’t want their kids to be “influenced” by them.
    I realize that what I have said isn’t clinical or politically correct, but is reflective of my childhood and teenage memories of societal issues of the day.
    But, I still struggle with men wanting to defy their biological gender and participate in female gender sports.
    I would have no problem with transgenders participating in activities with other transgenders. Create sports competition and leagues for transgenders, but don’t allow transgender women to participate in women sports, where clearly they have a distinct advantage (boxing).

  31. As a Fellow Greek-American like John, my Mother, Grandmothers and Aunts likewise were warriors for their children. The current conduct of Mothers is shameful, I pray that this Evil goes away.
