Biden’s Lawfare Isn’t Working Out as Planned. It’s Working Out Better.

The 1996 film “City Hall” starring Al Pacino as the Mayor of New York City and Danny Aiello as a corrupt Brooklyn political boss wasn’t a very good film but it had a great scene between Aiello’s character Frank Anzelmo and the NYC crime boss he worked for, Paul Zapatti, played well by the very able Tony Franciosa.
The heat is closing in on Anselmo and if Anselmo is taken in, he could give up Zapatti, so Zapatti stops by for a chat.
Anselmo tries to assure Zapatti that he can fix the problem saying, “99 out of a hundred times, we can… we can beat something like this.” To which Zapatti responds, “I don’t like those odds.”
Zapatti, who already made up his mind as to what needed to be done, then tells Anselmo in classic mafia metaphor lingo, “I tried to close the door, Frank – couldn’t get it shut…Take the pressure off yourself. Aah, here’s the thing. They’ll tell you, yeah, yeah, sure, you have the, you have the key to the cell, go ahead. But you won’t be able to open it without singing, yeah? You’re a singer, Frank.”
Anselmo, pleading for his life, responds, “Give me a chance and I’ll, I’ll, I’ll show you how quiet I can be.”
Zapatti then offers the unmistakable death threat dressed up as friendly advice, “It’s out of my hands, Frank. Do the RIGHT thing, will you? Make it easy for yourself. And your family. Yeah.”
The next scene is Anselmo pulling off to the side of the road in his car and eating his gun.
That scene is a close approximation to what has played out for Hunter Biden over the last several months right up to his dad’s embrace post-conviction.
The Biden Hillbillies tried to use their crime family clout to close the door when they got federal prosecutor David Weiss to agree to a plea deal that would have made the gun and tax fraud charges go away with a slap on the wrist. No felony convictions. No jail time.
But they couldn’t get the door shut when trial court judge Maryellen Noreika rejected the fix.
Hunter is family so the resolution is not as severe as it was for Anselmo. Given his functional confession to the gun charges, the resolution for Hunter is to do the time for the old man—at least until the old man is the post-election position to pardon him.
Thus, Mr. 10% showed up post-conviction to hug his baby boy Hunter as if to tell him, keep it together. Keep your mouth shut. Now we have the narrative we needed. After November, we’ll build back better our influence-peddling operation.
For all the talk of Hunter skating his whole life and never being held accountable until now for his reckless, shameful and often illegal conduct, it’s The Big Guy who continues to have a four-leaf clover securely up his anal passage particularly with Hunter sticking around to serve as his human shield.
So now the former President and the current first son are both convicted felons. Advantage Biden.
A sorrowful father accepts his son’s conviction because no one is above the law. Another tragic chapter for a family who has endured so much, the DC press corps will report.
Like so many families, the Big Guy worries only about his son’s well-being and prays Hunter continues to stave off his addiction demons, the DC press corps will report, characterizing Joe as a doting father who just loves his son and is worthy of our empathy.
Hunter’s legal wranglings ironically serve as a tourniquet to stop the Biden crime family from bleeding over onto Joe. The spineless caucus of House Republicans continues to block articles of impeachment against the President. Biden gets a pass.
Meanwhile, Trump doesn’t accept the Manhattan jury verdict. He is cast as someone who believes himself to be above the law which is a tell as to his authoritarian impulses. He is an unlikeable cad who got caught, blames everyone but himself and, in fact, we should live in fear of Trump planet which must be prevented at all costs, the DC press corps will report.
The lawfare hasn’t worked out quite like the Biden Hillbillies conceived it. It worked out better. Throw enough lines in the water and you’re bound to get a bite.
The grotesqueness of Fanni Willis, the Lavrentiy Beria nature of Jack Smith, and the weakness of the witnesses against Trump in Manhattan have all blunted the political impact desired by Biden.
But the convictions have slowed Trump’s mo’ and we’re only at the beginning of $500M worth of a media barrage designed to engineer the next moral panic which is, say it with me: we can’t have a convicted felon in the White House. And this will be directed to electoral cohorts socialized to give the system the benefit of the doubt and to subscribe to aphorisms like no one is above the law.
In the film “City Hall” the mayor played by Al Pacino is implicated in the corruption that resulted in the Danny Aiello character taking himself out. Pacino is convinced to walk away. He quietly retires from politics.
That’s the fictional world of Hollywood. In the non-fictional world of Washington, D.C., Biden isn’t going anywhere quietly.

Dan, that’s a well written story. Much like any Hollywood story. It’s a story. We the people have two of our very best (sarcasm) candidates running for president of the United States. What could possibly go wrong. These candidates were scooped up from the depths of the talent pool and may require life support sometime during their term.
As we love to say in Chicago, it’ll come down to the lesser of two evils. Running the United States of America and we have Mr. Frick and Mr. Frack vying for your vote. Having voted conservatively my entire life, I’m at a loss for the proper words to describe this year’s fiasco which is about to take place.
We can’t find two better candidates than the two AARP senior citizens that are running. I too am an AARP member and ashamed that these guys are our best efforts going forward.
What could possibly go wrong?
“…it’ll come down to the lesser of two evils”
Funny how 2 major presidential elections in a row have the same feature. And the 2 lesser evils have the same part of the country as their power base. I often wondered if Trump and Hillary had breakfast in a swank NY restaurant and flipped a coin to decide who would win pres, and who would pay the tip. If they didn’t go to such a power-breakfast, their handlers probably did.
Because we-the-people are so afraid of “the other side” (perhaps rightly-so), we’ll probably keep getting more of the same from here on out. Isn’t this the easiest way for folks behind the scenes to get their minions into office?
We have 50 states with 50 state governors – the closest job that approximates being President of the US. Perhaps folks who see through the “lesser of two evils” scam can write-in a state governor. Until we decide to start “wasting a vote” to fix things, we’ll keep getting more of the same.
Exactly. We should all be ashamed.
What scares me is according to the lastest poll being talked about Biden has almost 1/2 the country’s approval. People are astoundingly ignorant and uninformed. That is scary!
The only choice this year is: Who is the lesser of two evils? For whom do we vote against, not for? If this is best this country can do, Heaven help us.
Nice metaphor Dan. Of course, we can add in the lawfare of Mark Elias to corrupt the ballot box as well. If they can’t fix it prior to the election, maybe they can fix it as they count the votes.
Joe Biden sat in a sacred place, the entrance to the Normandy Cemetery with a member of the DNC propaganda machine, David Muir of ABC and said he accepts the jury verdict of his demon son Hunter. He also stated he will not pardon him.
Now, I do not bet very much, but I am willing to give odds, say one million to one that no matter if Joe loses, hopefully, or wins, regrettably, after November 5th, and before January 20th of next year, Joe will state family comes first and given that Hunter has not used crack for one week I as President hereby pardon Hunter from all and future crimes against the American people. Hunter and Joe will laugh at the American people and just state, Hunter is a wonderful person. In the meantime, Joe has still not met his 7th grandchild, love child of Hunter.
He will pardon him. He will commute his sentence. The regime will not have their children suffer self harm by our laws. This is Obama’s third term
Yianni,
I concur. Joe mumbles will pardon his little boy, maybe right before he resigns, gets impeached, or is replaced by Michelle or Hillary! He knows he’ll never win if he pardons the narcotic officspring. But that’s just me….
You know, everything I see here is correct. Anyone who doesn’t believe there will be a pardon is a blind fool. When it comes a voting for the lesser of two evils, Trump personally is an evil. However, his policies are/were good and we were so much better off 5 years ago than we are now. Biden is evil personally as well as politically. He’s out on some Martian planet and should be in senior assisted living facility. How dare I say such a thing, but other than it being true, anyone else other than “Mr nobody above the law” would have their handlers/keepers put in jail for senior abuse. It’s really pitiful to watch this guy exist and sadly, he is a sick man. If he wasn’t such an asshole, I could almost feel sorry for him. I expect him to be sacked come convention time. In favor of who ? I have no idea…but it certainly won’t be someone I would vote for.
No, my biggest worry is this. Voting for the lesser of 2 evils won’t make a difference if the election is once again a scam. If we can’t have a straight one it will be acknowledged that we’re finished. And that’s if we even get to that day. With all the talk of WWIII being instigated behind behind our All American White House Team and Barack Obama and along with that potential martial law imposed…that’s the scary part.
Don’t think that can happen ??? Zelinsky just did it.
It’s Trump versus Biden . . . AGAIN??
No better dogs, cats, or old men?
Or someone not fated
To be broadly hated?
A normal prez choice, now and then?
Doesn’t matter who wins, we the people lose. The country is run by pimp warfare making corporations and deep state (those that actually run the govt but who are not elected). Their whores in Congress will vote the way they are told to vote.
Until the people wake up and vote for candidates who will truly represent there concerns we are all f…!
How many of you actually are involved actively in a political party locally? Do any of you belong to a local party organization? Have any of you run for office. It’s not hard and despite what some say, doesn’t require big bucks. Most of the work is gathering signatures to get on the ballot for primaries. If you don’t like what’s going on get off your lazy fat asses and do something other than whine, whine, whine.
I have to admit I didn’t remember Lavrentiy Beria was Stalin’s longest serving secret police chief – thanks for the historical reference – but you’re dead wrong if you don’t think this election ends with a Trump romp to victory. Shocked at your timid take on the state of play!
This is, in large measure, history repeating itself. The Hard Left of the Republican party back when the US actually did have a real, hard war between the states, had no issue shutting down 300 opposition newspapers, destroying their assets, and right around the Federal election cycle, imprison anyone who spoke out against The Hard Left’s true motives… power, control, one party rule in perpetuity, money of course, and above all the subjugation of the South, or for that matter the subjugation of anyone who stood in the way.
When I read “American Bastille” – both volumes, twice – the brutality of the Hard Left back then, I mean you just become numb to it. But while you are numbed up, another story emerges. The Democrats, who were thrown in the Hard Left’s death camps, were offered freedom if they signed an oath of allegiance, which implied that they had been disloyal. Nearly to the man if not 100% of those offered freedom, chose to remain in prison. And these were people from ALL walks of life, so well known, and appealing, back then, were the principles of our Founding.
Of course I am preaching to the choir, because we were all taught this in school. So this is what will happen, and IS what is happening right now. The more the Hard Left is exposed, the more they attempt to force their agenda, the more Americans dig in their heels. Its alive – this is what I see.
I always make sure to segregate the fanatics of the Republican Party of 1860, from the President. The President was a Whig, like my Southern planting ancestors. The Party platform approved at the Wigwam in Chicago would be a dream platform today – and BTW what a convention that was folks, when little Chicago beat New York. But the radical component of the party wound up ruling the day, destroyed the party’s platform and brought hell to Earth. Something the President never wanted, and it killed him.
There is plenty of European precedent for what is happening in the United States – but thankfully, this is not Europe. As we all know, we have our own precedents right here – OBVIOUS PRECEDENTS. To the extent we don’t know this, or worse, but do and are scared to death to even mention them, talk about indoctrination.
Our Republic is alive – this is what I see. Fingers crossed! and great article!!
Great column Dan. If only things were so simple. Trump will win this election quite handily if the Democrats cannot successfully manufacture a crisis like 9/11 or Covid. The objective of such crisis would be to cause enough distraction to conduct massive mail in voting enabling the successful theft of the election. It worked the last time and it will work again. They’re getting desperate and the Democrats/Socialist/ Deep State operatives were willing to collapse the World Economy to stop Trump’s reelection four years ago. Antifa riots, BLM riots were used to great effect to discourage Trump voters from the polls four years ago and something bigger is in the planning stages right now. Russia is engaging in war games in Cuban waters right now. If and when Donald Trump is reelected he will never be allowed to take office. Merrick Garland will arrest him on fictitious charges and the military will send soldiers and tanks into the cities to protect the coup. Theyre getting desperate. I know, everything I said is far fetched but what is far fetched anymore?
No – not far fetched, nor are you a conspiracy theorist – you are a dot-connector.
We all know they will be up to no good. Hope RNC doesn’t just yap and sip a cosmo. Need to have a counter move. 500 lawyers ain’t crap. Million watchers 100 k lawyers. Dems will not play fair. Let’s go to Phoenix Milwaukee philly Vegas Detroit and raise hell with da cheaters
Watching Uncle Joe be led off stage by his old boss (and in reality the prez v3) at the end of the Hollywood gala where all the far left “influencers” could preen and feel good about an empty suit, or at the G8 where a different head of state led him away makes you know he is not in charge. Give the old man an ice cream cone and set him in the corner at the kiddie table and let the adults decide how the once great USA will fall
into the abyss of irrelevance. All of the goodies given away to the minority voters and the unnecessary drain caused by unfettered immigrants at no cost to them, it’s us chumbalones just pay more in tax and inflation. The illegals are being steered to places where the sensible hard working have fled so the head count for the House of Representatives stays in a tolerable balance for the Dems. As a person the Donald is unlikable but he loves the US. Was the election “stolen”, well an old saying sums it best. Figures don’t lie but liars sure can figure. The convention in August will be a real riot fest. But who will be the Democrat white knight ?
And how will Uncle Joe be pushed into the Assisted Living he needs. We shall just have to wait and see.
If the claim that “17% of Biden’s voters would not have voted for him in 2020 had they known of Hunter’s laptop” has any validity- that is now rectified in spades, and convictions. With more to come.
I disagree. They voted for Biden because he was not Trump. If they didn’t know about Hunter’s laptop, they were not paying attention to what was going on. They knew exactly what they were doing when they voted for Biden. Now after they are getting what they voted for and they deserve, they are bleating that they were deceived. Give me a break.
In light of the legal troubles of Donald Trump I think his choice of the right VP is paramount. Biden’s VP pick has been a disaster and a drag/problem for the Dems. There is a very real possibility Donald Trump’s VP may have to carry a much heavier than normal load during a Trump administration. The VP pick also points to a future presidential candidate as both current presidential candidates are lame ducks. I like JD Vance.
When faced with 2 “evils” for President choose the one whose policies best serve yourself and your family and not their personalities.
We’ve been voting this way for many years now. This is not the first election where voting for the lesser of 2 evils has taken place and people choose not to vote.
I’ve wanted a businessman running the country but politicians don’t want an outsider upsetting the applecart on either side of the aisle.
I’ll take Trumps policies over his personality over Biden with neither. In my opinion, that’s voting for the best person not the lesser of 2 evils.
