Americans Are Sick of Paying the Democrat DEI Blood Price
By John Kass
June 17th, 2026
Who brings a knife to a track meet, then stabs another athlete to death? Or who brings gasoline on public transit in Chicago, douses a young woman and burns her alive?
And who pays the blood price for this anti-white racism, most of it institutionalized by the left, and protected in Western Culture?
We do. The middle class. And we’re sick of it.
Nausea builds as we realize, finally, that the center does not hold and we’re about to be cast adrift into the left’s dystopian nightmare that they have planned for us for years. We refuse. Our anger builds and grows.
And as the culture descends into racial tribalism predictably promoted by so-called “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion,” programs baked into American politics and policy, our fingers defensively twitch for rocks, clubs, triggers to fend off the tribalism. What does this signal? The end of civil society.
Somewhere, Marx and Lenin are laughing.
In his article in Spiked online, Brendan O’Neill addresses the recent atrocities in Ireland that reflect similar horrors here in America, where a man in Belfast was nearly beheaded by a Sudanese migrant who crept into the country with the aid of the left-wing government.
“People are sick of paying the blood price of bourgeois virtue. That is increasingly how it feels to working-class communities – that they are expected to absorb the risk of letting in tens of thousands of unvetted men, while their betters absorb the glow of righteousness that comes with crying ‘Refugees welcome’. The activist class in their leafy suburbs are shielded from the social consequences of their moral theatre. It is the lower orders who suffer the fallout. Working-class girls who suddenly have 800 men from f#### knows where in the hotel at the end of their road. “Women like Rhiannon Whyte, murdered by a Sudanese ‘asylum seeker’ from the very migrant hotel she worked in. This poor man in Belfast. It seems their suffering is a small price to pay for the moral gloating of our rulers.”
Americans are sick of it, too.
We’re perpetually at the edge of nausea as the Democratic Left continues to make excuses for terrible unspeakably violent behavior.
Never forget the innocent young woman Bethany Magee paid the Democrat blood price. Lawrence Reed–the man who poured gas on her then lit her on fire—then was heard screaming “Burn Alive Bitch!!” was not an immigrant from the third-world.
Reed is an American, a violent repeat felon arrested 72 times and released again and again by a series of liberal Democrat judges to burn that innocent girl alive. But he also is the beneficiary of the same left wing blood price where our political masters bathe in their left-wing virtue-signaling at our expense for their power.
He is a black American. And Democrat politicians give themselves social-political credits for keeping black criminals out of jail. It comes out of the George Soros playbook favored by the left-wing billionaire who funded his Soros prosecutor zero Kim Foxx, the former Cook County State’s Attorney and top political aid to Toni Preckwinkle, the chairman of the Cook County Democrats.
But machine pols such as Preckwinkle benefit with 69 percent of the ballots cast in the last party primary, feeding on the black vote and the hard leftist army of the Chicago Teacher’s Union.
The Chicago Tribune and Sun-Times continue to feed this blood price by refusing to run police mugshots of arrested criminal suspects. Former Tribune editor R. Bruce Dold lost this police mugshot battle with the leftist newsroom union. A prominent leader of that leftist union, a Social Justice Warrior, is now the dying newspaper’s managing editor.
And Preckwinkle, protected by the area’s largest newspaper and played the race card with the praise of the Soros left.
And the once-great city of Chicago dies.
Who has paid the Democrat DEI Blood price?
Many have paid it, including the victims.
Bethany MaGee is still paying it.
“This would never have happened if this thug had been behind bars,” said U.S. Transportation Secretary Duffy. “Yet Chicago lets repeat offenders roam the streets. Chicago’s carelessness is putting the American people at risk. No one should ever have to fear for their life on the subway.”
But they do. Only the poor and the most desperate take urban public transportation.
Iryna Zarutska, the Ukrainian immigrant paid it.
Laken Reilly paid it. And so have many others.
The so-called madman Decarlos Brown, who allegedly cut Irina Zarutska’s throat and killed her, was discriminating enough to bypass all other passengers, all of whom were black.
Zarutska was white. He sat behind her in the train car before cutting her throat.
In the United Kingdom the people there pay the blood price for the importing of unskilled workers drafted for their pro-labor votes, and law enforcement worries that murder victims like Henry Novack may have expressed politically incorrect thoughts.
And Americans continue paying as violent American socialists protect illegals and migrant killers by demonstrating at ICE facilities, more interested in demonizing President Trump than in protecting American children from violent predators.
Of course we’re sick of it.
On the Passing of Thomas R. Donovan
By John Kass
From the left: Thomas R. Donovan, Dr. Michael Byrne, and John Kass
Chicago is a once great city being mismanaged into the ground by a series of incompetent leftist mayors.
The last thing the dying city needed was to lose a friend like Tom Donovan, who passed the other day.
He loved Chicago as I loved it, from the inside out and from the bottom up.
The obituaries will note that Donovan served as the influential President and CEO of the Chicago Board of Trade from 1982 to 2000.
A former top aide to Mayor Richard J. Daley, and Mayor Michael A. Bilandic, he successfully guided the exchange into the electronic trading era.
But all that are the litanies for the business obituary page.
Who was the man?
He was born and raised in Chicago’s legendary 11th Ward, the birthplace of mayors.
He was the top aide and chief patronage director for Mayor Richard J. Daley beginning in 1969. Daley went to mass early, and then went to work. It was there that Tom built his knowledge of human nature.
He was cautious, prudent, not an impulsive hot-head but through those years and beyond he was never an arrogant man.
The English poet Rudyard Kipling understood this Irish American son of Bridgeport in the poem “If.”
“If you can walk with kings and keep the common touch.”
He walked with American presidents, and captains of industry, but he was low-key and humble always. He was my friend of many years.
Here’s an insight into who Tom Donovan was.
As the lead columnist for the Chicago Tribune, loyal readers know that I was a merciless critic of Illinois’ supreme Democrat, the boss, Illinois Speaker Michael Madigan. And when I was tired, I’d slap Alderman Edward Burke around some, too.
Donovan, Madigan and Burke were close friends. Donavan was a fierce defender of them. But in all the years we were friends, Tom never let my criticisims of Madigan or Burke bleed into our interactions with one another. Not once. Ever. Donovan understood that there was a time and a place for a difference of opinions, and neither were found within the confines of our deep friendship. He was a man–a man’s man.
To me, he was a gentleman, one of the last true statesman in Illinois politics, but most importantly–as Tom would always say–he was a family man.
And now he’s gone. I’ll miss him. So will Chicago.

Thank you John, and though I did not know the man Tom Donovan I remembered the name, thank you for your kind tribute.
Oh by the by, there was this inconvenient burning wooden cross ablaze in Grant Park with a cherry (MAGA cap) 0n top….nothing to see here…Jesse Smollett, we hardly knew ye.
I knew that story would die as soon as they showed the surveillance footage of the perp. Turns out he’s a college student of Asian descent named Lu, who claims it was just a protest of Trump and that he had no concept that cross burnings were a racist act.
America. So racist the hate crimes have to be faked.
Great stuff today Kasso.
Thanks Houli.
That poor man almost beheaded in Ireland, all those young women raped by the grooming gangs, and those racist buffoons defending the stabbing at the track meet, I’m sickened by what Obama and DEI have done to us, as if it were plotted by M
Marx and Lenin.
and my heart breaks for Tom Donovan’s family
The same people who post signs like “Hate Has No Home Here: Choose Kind” turn a blind eye to the victims of rape, assault, corporal arson and murder committed by approved demographics,
In Great Britain 250,000 white working-class girls as young as eight years of age have been groomed, raped and tortured by Pakistani and other devout Islamists (I won’t say Muslims) for decaades without any succor from the lites in Media, Government, or Law Enforcement,
Read about the Rape Report that was funded by individuals,
America has the same sickness.
This why there is rioting in Belfast, Glasgow and Dublin.

Britain is over
Europe is toast. No matter how they react now, the birthrates will defeat them. Trump is smart putting NATO in the rear-view mirror and the OAS in the headlights.
Something difficult: writing with a steady hand and eloquence about a plague of race-directed murder inspired by vile leftist poses.
Also difficult: to movingly celebrate a political professional whose allegiances were different, recognizing that professional’s work in journalism as having great integrity and decency.
If you’ve ever tried to write just a letter on challenging subjects like those, you know how hard it is to find the right words. Under circumstances we’re aware of, those right words today come across as quite a gift.
Britain is over
And thank you David. I did my best
Thanks for another great column John. Actions from foriegners allowed into the UK and Europe to wreak havoc have motivated the IRA to regroup. The near beheading of the poor man in Ireland has stoked riots. The Scottish 12 year old girl who pulled a knife and hand axe on a foreign groomer at a public park has been acquitted and the groomer/ trafficker charged with solicitation. People are fed up with the nonsense. Trump has the globalists who created this crisis terrified. The local domestic terrorists planned attack last week show the desperation of the bastards. Violence creates fear. Donald Trump is the only leader of any Western country who sounded the alarm of the invasion of The US and European countries from Third World Globalism. These events were no accidents. They were planned. Biden allowed eighteen million illegals into our country, Europe let in millions of illegals into their countries. It’s all part of the plan. Trump is the only man willing to stop it. Let him do the job he was elected to do. The whole world is watching…
And the center will not hold.
Thanks John for writing the words what most of us are afraid to speak. The DEI obsession creates European-type aristocrats out of government employees who are empowered to bully and intimidate the public. We see it over and over, like the Chicago STEM teacher at Nathan Hale School who celebrated the murder of Charlie Kirk on video. Illinois is an epicenter of the hatred that fuels DEI.
Some states are attempting to phase out DEI insanity. A parole officer lost her job with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for glorifying the teenage knife-killer. But leftwing mobs outside the courthouse have prevailed, with death threats against the family who lost their son.
As the mobs scream accusations of courthouse racism, other families in Dallas are recalling the arrogance of then-President Obama when he invited himself to the memorial services of five murdered Dallas police officers ten years ago.
Barack used the funeral to push his leftwing agenda, while widows and children mourned the loss of their fathers by a man who stated he wanted to kill white people, especially police officers.
Thanks Tom Winike:
Obama is an oily rat, a commie Alinsyite beneath our contempt
John,
I believe we need to get on our knees and pray for Divine intervention.
“God has not given us a spirit of cowardice, but of power and love, and of a sound mind.”
2Timothy 1:7
So true John, but are the American people sick of it enough to prevent the pro DEI crowd from taking over the House and Senate this fall? I pray to God this doesn’t happen to our wonderful country.
Kathy Baker
Yianni,
As we say, you hit the nail on the head! We’re all exhausted and weary having our faces shoved into these buckets of DEI bulls–t! Enough already. Obama was and is the dirtiest of them around, and continues to garner media space due to his slickness and oratorical skills that skew the truth. And I pray I’m still around when the city of Chicago finds out the pricetag to continue support to his edifice to Allah in Jackson Park! I’m sure very little press will find its way to the surface, but trust me….that day is just around the corner. After the hype and hoopla is over, the bill comes due, and so many contractors are still waiting for their payments! Ah yes…the Chicago way!! Stay tuned folks…
I’m no fan of Barack Obama, believe me. Never cared for the man when he was in Springfield and never voted for him when he moved onto other, greater grifts. But I have to ask, what prompted your comment that his new, ugly structure is “his edifice to Allah in Jackson Park”? Is there something I’m missing about an Islamic influence behind the new edifice, or is your phrasing mere hyperbole?
Great stuff again, yet so painful to read.
I see some potential hope that Obama may finally have to pay for his misdeeds…not just in the USA, but across the world. Can military tribunals be on the horizon ? Hopefully sooner rather than later. Stuff won’t end until the sham is brought out and some accountability held.
One can only hope, right ?
“To walk with Kings, and keep the common touch”. Now I know why my grandfather admired Kipling.
Like Barack Hussein Obamscu who I’m told will be at the grand opening this weekend of the leftist Democrat mausoleum, wait..I think the only common touch he ever had was in the back seat of Rezko’s limo after a cocaine buy
Mr. Kass’ quotation from Kipling is what invented the United States and high praise if I may, like every one of my founding ancestors who while in principle were steadfast loyal to the crown “men like Patrick Henry and Thomas Jefferson would join country festivities (with their violins) among a mass of fiddlers seemingly contrary to the notion of Themostocles, that a man might play a fiddle, and be at the same time capable of raising a small to be a great state”
Excellent Kasso.
Ireland is a lost cause, that will never come back.
RIP Tom Donovan. Might have been a King Pin, but never forgot his roots, his dignity and compassion. Met him working for the city, actually treated us employees better than Short Shanks.
Great piece today John. Thank you.
My condolences on the loss of your friend.
Nice, well reasoned comments by all. I’m happy to see this feature restored.
1. Chicago mismanaged by leftist mayor’s? Where the 2 Daleys and Bilandic leftist or is it ok to mismanage the city as long as you are not leftist? Who sold the city public parking and skyway? That was a good deal, huh. Who allowed the mob to run Streets and Sanitation. Whose daughter married into the Mob. Oh I get it, at least they were white.
2. Donovan in charge of patronage? So patronage was OK back then but not now.
3. Donovan worked for crooks. What does that make him?
Yes, I think you make some good points. However for me the sale of the parking meter revenue for the next 75 yrs or so was without doubt – and absent a detailed google search – the greatest municipal financial blunder in urban history. And if I recall correctly the Chicago City council was on board with this predictable disaster from the get go.
Andrew Sullivan wrote on this very same topic in Britain. He laid blame to Tory and Labour. We have the same problem here. Two corrupted political entities getting rich while doing the bidding of the Epstein class.
Two cheeks of the same backside.
Read the Declaration of Independence, Common Sense, Washington and Ike’s farewells.
Doc Rudd is right about the Daley’s too, you’re blinded by your own tribalism.
We need a reset
A tribal thinker. That’s sad
With the mob,we had law and order. The crooks we have today don’t care about our safety. We can be mugged anywhere at anytime.
For some reason I’m not receiving your columns. Bummer!
It’s sad to have read about the senseless deaths of many innocent people.
Something is terribly broke. We need to fix it.
I’m sorry for your loss. My sympathies and prayers go out to his loved ones.
