The Good, the Bad, & the Incompetent
Chicago Way w/John Kass (01/27/25): Charles Lipson, the Peter B. Ritzma Professor of Political Science Emeritus at the University of Chicago, joins John Kass and Jeff Carlin this week with a focus on President Donald Trump’s ‘First Hundred Hours,’ his trips to North Carolina & California, and what pushback from within the GOP he might face while implementing his immediate goals. Professor Lipson has a hot tip for good dumplings in Chicago’s vibrant Chinatown. Plus, Kasso wonders how many terriers it will take to catch all the rats hiding inside the bureaucracy?

Re advice to President Trump on how many terriers he’ll need to root out the rats in the bureaucracy: An entire kennel full, and not terriers—Irish wolf hounds, great Danes, Police dogs, etc. Find and remove.
Put them in the same room and one pit bull or bull terrier could do the job, rather rapidly too!
The good professor is absolutely correct. Just because you pay more in taxes doesn’t mean you get any more bang for your buck. Illinois and Chicago tax the hell out of you and delivers mediocre government at best. I recently visited Chicago and asked this question to friends and relatives. WHEN HAS THIS CITY OR STATE DONE ANYTHING THAT HELPED YOU, THE TAXPAYER. All I received were puzzled looks. Not one could give me an answer. If anyone does have an answer please feel free to leave it on this forum. I’m sure Kasso might need some laughs..
