    Good interview. Being the former President & CEO of the Sergeants’s Union and having retired as a Lieutenant with 30 years of CPD experience I can honestly say that Larry was a top end Superintendent, and that a replacement will definitely need to be a leader not just a supervisor. The new mayor will have to do a thourough vetting during the selection process to assure not only an adequate pick, but the right pick.

    A lot of moving parts in the next nine months. Too much to discuss in comments. Someday we’ll have a cold refreshment and discuss further.

  2. The lack of respect for police by the government and many citizens is criminal. This ICE money could have been used to make our cities so much safer and the border could have actually been closed and drugs stopped from flowing.

    You need to look at the national combine. it’s not just Illinois that has a combine. I see right wing commentators prattle on a bout Zohran, he only has limited control in NYC. AOC is really radical, ain’t she? What has she accomplished besides enrich herself and some key supporters? Combine, hustle, that’s all our government is.

    Police and fire run into danger, while pols run away.

  3. “Outgoing police chief was dishonorably treated by Mayor Johnson”? How do you expect honor from a slave? And that too from a guy who is being slavish to the two women he had worked for, even after he had been elected mayor? And remember his wailing, “I am a black man and have 3 black children and a black wife and I have to take care of them first”? And it’s all the fault of city’s northwest side poles and the lakeshore whites who abstained from voting rather than to vote for Vallas? So, the city got what it deserved.
