The Chicago Way: Lady McGates’ and the tragedy on the 5th floor

Chicago Way w/John Kass (03/07/24): Joining the conversation today with John Kass & Jeff Carlin is Erin Geary, who tapped into her 30+ years as of experience as an educator in Chicago Public Schools, the Archdiocese, and beyond to write a great piece entitled “No Chicago Rebrand Needed, Education and Public Safety Above Cheap PR”, to discuss the audacity of the Chicago Teacher’s Union President Stacy “Indiana Home” Davis Gates washing her hands of Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson’s growing ineptitude on the 5th floor of City Hall. Plus, Kasso wonders if Mayor Johnson knows if he’s not the first ‘Mayor Fredo?’

  1. Wow! Davis Gates drops the race card to shut up any opposition, and then declares herself the Leader of the Largest most powerful Union in the country and demands $50 billion. What could be more 16th Century Europe.

That statement ALONE, if Chicago were being run by Africans (btw that is the same as saying if Chicago were being run by the Irish) – true Americans of African descent that is, true to their heritage – she would be told “Ms Gates, we feel it best for you to become a teacher again and work you way back up. Were not firing you, we believe in you, you have just lost your way. This is about the children, not you”.

My Slaveholding ancestors in Virginia always referred to Blacks as “Africans” – because they were able to remain African, even under extreme duress, because they COULD kill us in our beds – but didn’t – because there was a middle ground, because many of us became very much like Africans while still speaking perfect English. We did both. If Africans were running Chicago, and not bolsheviks, believe me – we would become a city of four million overnight – and then $5 bilge, no problem Ms Gates! You earned it
