The Man the Deep State Hates: Kash Patel
by John Kass
Sunday Feb. 23, 2025
Kashyap Pramod Vinod “Kash” Patel placed his hand on the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad Gita and swore his oath to the Constitution of the United States. It was the worst day imaginable for the Deep State in America. And it will get worse for them.
I could almost see the Deep State liar Sen. Adam Schiff’s head trembling with panic, about to explode. And James Clapper’s, and John Brennan’s and all the other Deep State heads. Don’t worry. They’ll explode like eggs left abandoned in a hot pot on the stove. They all will. And like eggs, they’ll smell of sulfur.
They’ve lost control over the federal hammer they’ve used to destroy those who oppose them. They used our sacred Constitution as a weapon. All that’s over now. He’s already defeated the Deep State. They have no shame.
Patel was sworn in at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building last week by his good friend new U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi. He’d been confirmed by the U.S. Senate as the ninth FBI director, succeeding the known liar Christopher Wray. Patel, who is Indian American, is the first person of color to become FBI director which no doubt has the old boys like J. Edgar Hoover rolling in his grave.
“I am living the American dream,” Patel said after taking the oath. “And anyone that thinks the American dream is dead, just look right here. You’re talking to a first-generation Indian kid who’s about to lead the law enforcement community of the greatest nation on God’s green earth. That can’t happen anywhere else.”
It takes a first generation immigrant to understand what he’s been through. Especially if we’ve come from authoritarian lands. I can understand. My brothers understand. Our father worshiped American liberty and American freedom. And Patel’s father did as well. In no other country could this have happened. Immigrants love America like few others can love her. You need a family steeped in patriotism to teach you. It is a living thing in some of us. We would never hurt America, just as we would never dishonor our family name or our fathers.
When I think of Patel, I think of his parents, running in panic to stay alive in Uganda as savage tribalism eclipsed the rule of law. He tells that story beautifully in a Wall Street Journal op ed. I leave the link in the paragraph below.
“My father fled Idi Amin’s genocidal dictatorship in Uganda,” Patel writes. “My mother was born in Tanzania. They married in India and emigrated to New York, where I was born and raised in a bustling household that included my father’s seven siblings, their spouses and six children. My family instilled in me a deep respect for the rule of law and the transformative power of education. These values have shaped the driving force behind my career: protecting the rights enshrined in our Constitution.”
The FBI was the world’s best law enforcement agency. I said “was” for a reason. No one believes it is a great institution now. The public trust has been broken. The FBI lost its credibility when it became another tool in Barack Obama’s Deep State tool box. The FBI was corrupted. There were dishonorable and unlawful conspiracies run out of FBI headquarters aimed at the destruction of one man: President Donald J. Trump.
Corrupted FBI officials spied on Americans hoping to put Trump in prison. They lied about it. They lied about targeting Roman Catholics and parents of public school children concerned about what the schools were teaching their kids. They even lied about the series of lies they told the American people to threaten Trump. They lied about the origins of the Deep State lie to protect Hillary Clinton and destroy the Trump administration with the completely fabricated “Russia Collusion” investigation. And so on.
They lied about the Hunter Biden laptop to protect the corrupt Joe Biden administration, the corrupt president and Hunter himself. And so much more.
“Look, I know the media’s in here, and if you have a target, the target’s right here,” Patel said Friday as he pointed to himself. “It is not the men and women at the FBI. You have written everything you possibly can about me that’s fake, malicious, slanderous and defamatory. Keep it coming. Bring it on, but leave the men and women of the FBI out of it. They deserve better,” Patel told reporters, throwing the gauntlet in the media’s face.
Will Patel rebuild the public trust in the now ruined and sodden FBI?
I hope so. America needs a working FBI, not some hollow shell only fit for ridicule. I had good friends who were FBI agents. They loved our country. They were concerned about short-cuts that would undercut American Constitutional liberty. And none wanted to work at headquarters with the silky political cats. They were field agents. It is the field where Patel hopes to ship FBI agents to save them from the rot of FBI headquarters.
How will he rebuild the public trust? He outlined his goals in op eds and commentary that has driven the Deep State insane. He’s written an excellent book “Government Gangsters” chronicling the Deep State. We are both the sons of immigrants. We had to watch our fathers deal with authoritarian rule. And we won’t forget our fathers facing it.
President Trump’s appointments of Kash Patel at FBI and Tulsi Gabbard as Director of National Intelligence were a master strokes. And former DNI John Ratcliffe now runs the CIA. They are Trump’s Deep State Rat Catchers. Make no mistake. The rats were terrified when Trump was elected, and they are even more terrified now.
Thinking of Patel and the immigrant’s dream I also think of my brother Nicholas, who like Patel is an immigrant’s son, he has traced the Deep State from its origins in the dark shadows and damp alleyways of Turkish politics. He’s been around. He is a retired senior CIA officer, National Security Council member, White House official and U.S. diplomat. And he’s been writing about the Deep State for years.
Nick writes: “This brings us to what is shaping up to be the overriding issue for 2024: aware of the Deep State, will voters finally condemn it as fundamentally un-American? Or will they disregard, or worse, embrace it—and thereby affirmatively consent to their own subjugation? The country is at a crossroads.
But Trump was victorious. And with Patel running the FBI, the Deep State won’t easily escape. Some of the large fat rats were outside the FBI headquarters theatrically stamping their feet like Deep State Rumpelstiltskins. Thanks to an X by the great and incredibly brave columnist Miranda Devine of the New York Post, I noticed the photo of Sen. Dick Durbin, Melon Head Schiff and others having a protest. Only a handful of bitter Deep Statists bothered to show up. As I stared at the photo, I wondered if their heads would explode soon.
Hope so. They deserve it.
They also appear to be middle aged white males. I thought that was banned in their party? https://t.co/GSl4CTV4Cr

The most valuable thing about time is that it can be your most dependent friend or your most violent enemy. Time will tell. If all the President’s picks pan out, then we are in for a very reformative time. There will high fives and laughing along with knashing of the teeth and terror. You couldn’t have a better combination for the biggest show on earth. We all front row seats for the circus. Let the action begin. Praying that the Donald knows when and how to stop making comments. With much hope we are on the path of making America Great Again.
The eternal question for me: Why do voters keep voting for the likes of Durbins and Schiffs?
Tour de force -“It takes a first generation immigrant to understand what he’s been through. We would never hurt America, just as we would never dishonor our family name or our fathers.”
“Faith or our Fathers” is hymn that got replaced by Kumbayas. Starting with my generation, young people began to smirk at these lyrics in the Catholic hymn, ” Faith of our fathers, living still. In spite of dungeon, fire and sword, O how our hearts beat high with joy. Whene’er we hear that glorious word!” Clowns like Brennan began to pray on rugs and pretend to defend our nation. Glad a Hindu lad is showing us back to the true path.
Outstanding column- perfectly framed-
There is now a glimmer of hope that everything can be “right” again
Trump learned from his first term . As I read from Mitch Albom, “ it is never too late or never too early it is always when it is supposed to be “
This column makes you want to cheer, with American battles being won for a change, and real-world villains in retreat from a self-made hero. What a great concluding touch, citing fearless Miranda Devine passing along the photo of five lonely liars in retreat, Brenden Diley noting, “Five a**holes huddled around a microphone with zero constituent support . . . .”
The Deep State of shallow leftists finally facing some accountability! Let’s hope we’ll have JKN accounts of glorious DC takedowns to complement the Madiganistan news.
I love my early Sunday Mornings with my first cup of fresh coffee and your latest column here John. Thank you sir.
I’m not sure we are out of the woods quite yet. I’m liking the progress I see. But it’s too early to declare victory. They (the left) don’t quit.
They play the long game. While we work to build our lives and homes and families, they work to undermine our freedom and control everything.
Durbin and his ilk disgust me.
I can’t agree more strongly with every point you make. Especially those polite final six words. Your middle ‘graphs, so true, make a stark and sharply ominous warning.
There must be an Atticus Finch. And there must be someone to bring him a rifle. There are mad dogs loose. We know who they are and and we all must be made safe.
Coffee and Kass, yeah, man
The American Dream written by a fellow traveler.
The sad picture of our deep state senators on an empty street with no cheering crowd is a reflection of the soon to be dismantled deep state.
Agreed! They look so pathetic, I love it.
Those senators made complete fools of themselves. They are total idiots and also are scared shitless of what will happen to them. Carry on Kash as we are waiting and are ready to start poping the corn.
John,
As a first generation immigrant who came here from England thirty five years ago I have a different perspective to you in so far as I did not witness my Father struggling to acclimate as you did.
However I am so grateful for the opportunities I have had since I came (and became a citizen in 2002). I did not come west in a covered wagon but it has truly been the land of opportunity for me.
The contrast is even more stark for me as I look back across the Atlantic Ocean and see what has happened to my beloved home town of London and the UK.
They appear to be spiraling into a deep abyss (as is much of Europe) and Kier Starmer is the furthest thing from Donald Trump.
Sixteen of the last twenty years has been beyond dispiriting but we are at the Dawn of a Golden Age.
Thank you for sustaining us with your fearless commentary along the way.
Peter
Unfortunate what is happening to western Europe. Their civilizations and cultures will be absorded into Islam in as little as ten years. Congratulations to those like Merkel (a holdover from East Germany no less) for the number of invaders on Europe’s soil.
“The Hindu lives loudly in you”-Dick Durbin
Durbin=just another bigot Democrat.
Thou dost protest too much…….my impression of Schifty rages on about Kash Patel. Hmmmm what’s he afraid of? He got a blanket pardon from Biden.
I hope Director Patel still goes after that lying, immoral, unethical, pathetic loser Schiff notwithstanding the outrageous pardon! He needs to be exposed and pilloried for what he did to President Trump, and our great country. Maybe he will shut up, but I doubt it.
What a great quote from FBI Director Patel: “You have written everything you possibly can about me that’s fake, malicious, slanderous and defamatory. Keep it coming. Bring it on, but leave the men and women of the FBI out of it. They deserve better,”
I agree- during my 36 year law enforcement career I worked extensively with the FBI, and have many Friends who were FBI Agents. They had unquestioned integrity, courage, and they didn’t care who got the credit, as long as the bad guys got caught. The highest compliment a Cop can give is that you would put your life in another Cop’s hands. That is how I felt about my FBI Friends.
Of course, when politics got involved the FBI’s reputation suffered, as the reputations of law enforcement agencies always do when politics gets involved. The people in power must have forgotten the sacred oath that they took, just to placate their political masters. When hillary was caught with classified documents on her laptop at home and the then FBI Director admitted that they were there but wouldn’t be prosecuted, I thought that was the beginning of the downhill slide. And when other (sic) “leaders” of the FBI went right along with the charade for years, it bothered me as it bothered my now retired FBI Friends.
I truly hope that Director Patel takes that oath very seriously, as the overwhelming majority of the current FBI personnel do. This old retired Cop wishes him and them the very best.
Great column and personal, too. As a 12th generation American, I know that first generation Americans are one of our greatest assets. I knew several Italians of that ilk when I was growing up in New Jersey and they were first-class people. I had four sisters and they all married Italians. They were appreciative of their place, time and opportunity in what was a largely a WASPish culture.
Whether or not there are indictments or convictions, it’s time to fully expose the rolling and widespread sedition of the Obama/Biden years which came to their ignominious end with the American people’s rejection of the fascist/socialist tactic of lawfare, i.e., if you can’t beat ’em, indict ’em.
But hopefully there will be indictments. Several of the conspirators like Schiff, Comey and Brennan violated the law and should be held accountable.
If indeed these anti-American slugs actually pay the price for what they did it would be restorative for many Americans. I have never, and never will, trust government. I know too much history. Having said that, I’d love to at least give them an equal chance at trust instead of the default position of disbelieving anything they say. It would be somewhat restorative for me. I’m hoping for it, in a very guarded way. And like you, I love to see those people scatter like cockroaches when the light comes on.
Dear John: Great article. It is my hope that Patel does in fact restore the FBI to their investigative role in solving crimes and avoid being involved with politics. It still astounds me that J. Edgar Hoover’s name is still on the building. Dan Locallo

Dan: Thanks.
Speaking of justice, what happened to Cook County? Hope you write something soon for all of us here at johnkassnews.com

Yianni,
Let the games begin! Those 5 assholes protesting are finished, but they’re in denial. They have no clue as to the incredible climate change in Washington, and I’m not referring to the bulls–t climate change embraced by Joe mumbles and his cohorts. We’re not talking about weather here! Schiff and Durbin will retire very soon in an effort to save face, as they have lost control, and will be swept away by the rising tide of the administration. All of Trump’s efforts to reshape and repurpose our government have met with resistance, and yet, his cabinet and agency picks are being confirmed, albeit kicking and screaming by the old guard, but it’s happening, and the deep state is being uprooted – they just don’t know it yet! Thanks for a refreshing review of our current affairs of state, and kudos to Kash and all of Trump’s nominees! Eis Anotera!!!!

hope so Leo.
My grandfather was an immigrant. He was also my best childhood friend. (Growing up in my grandparents’ home, there are not a lot of little children around to play.) Pop loved America and the Catholic Church. Four of their five sons served in WWII, the other son was rejected due to his health so he served at home. Later, when I was married, I married an immigrant from Belgium. He served in the Korean conflict. He loved America and appreciated this country every day of his life. i know he would be behind Patel just as I know he would have supported President Trump. He never voted for Obama and felt he was unfit to be President. God Bless America and God Bless President Trump and his cabinet.
I hope Director Patel still goes after that lying, immoral, unethical, pathetic loser Schiff notwithstanding the outrageous pardon! He needs to be exposed and pilloried for what he did to President Trump, and our great country. Maybe he will shut up, but I doubt it.
Mr. Kass, you write a good article: it is so true.
Keep it up
I recommend Victor Davis Hanson’s commentary “The Lost Agrarian World”: and especially the comments that followed the piece from generations of farm and rural families to restore your faith in our American character and that it will prevail.
Not only the three lone Deep Staters but the looks on their faces, especially Illinois Senator “Dick” Durbin brought a warm smile to my face.
Remember that song “Who let the dogs out?” Well, Mr. Patel has just been let out! Sic ’em!
This column was waiting to be written. I cannot think of anyone more prepared by his life’s experiences to write it than you, John. Thank you for your unique record of writing about scoundrels who lie to our faces whether that be in person or by some version of ads on TV being paid for by an amalgam of titles like theDemocrat Victory Fund, whether that be by the IL senate president or whoever is in charge of the DNCC in Washington in whatever election cycle we’re referencing. Kash is the warrior you and Miranda Devine and Michael Shellenberger and Matt Taibbi and others have been praying for. It’s a great time to be alive! Thank you for your life’s body of work.
Hey John:
It feels great to feel good about good things happening.
Thank you,
Again, great column, JOHN!
Not long after reading this, I heard an old Beatle song from the White album, Piggies. A perfect tune for the picture at the end! GOD BLESS YOU and stay healthy!
John,
This article about Kash Patel and the prior about Michael Madigan have been some of the best you have written. Kudos!
My Grandparents from both sides came from Poland and said to all of us grandchildren to “Love America!” We all have and carry on that belief.
Excellent JK
Yesterday in this country three police officers were shot and killed
The new FBI director personally the called their police chiefs, offering condolence’s for the officers, their families and colleagues.
FBI tactical support was also offered.
New Sheriff in town.
Then called.
Five men standing in front of a mic to protest Kash Patel. Pathetic bunch including our own Dickie Durbin. Schiff too. They know the jig is up and apparently Dems with better sense did not show up. The close ups are always focused but the long shot tells the tale. The dismantlement of the good old boys and girls “system” is underway. God Bless all the real freedom fighters who believe in this country for Everyman and do not look line their pockets at every opportunity.
So Schiff has been pardoned. So what. Haul him along with Durbin and the others that haven’t been pardoned and force them to talk under threat of contempt. Since Schiff has been pardoned, he cannot refuse to testify because of the threat of self-incrimination. That defense has been wiped out by Uncle Joe. Then lock the whole bunch up, along with Pritzker and some of these jerk governors and let them rot.
Has Illinois Idiot, Dickless Durbin, ever been on the correct side of any issue?
Ye$$! Ye$$ he ha$!
Thank you John Kass for another great column. Stay healthy and keep writing. At least we know where we can get the truth. 😀
Kash needs to go after the pan-fish first, then the lake trout, then some swordfish, then get some retired FBI seniors in the boat to go after the whales. “Do you have any information regarding these five ‘Most Wanted’ on the show tonight? Please call 800-…..-….. Today !!”
TheConservativeTreehouse.com is skeptical of Kash/Biondi. Not a hater, but skeptical they can actually accomplish anything to break the intelligence communities hold on the federal government.
I like Patel. Read his book. Excellent. Wish him well.
But dont say the FBI was oh so honorable b 4 Biden. It was originally run by short fat little queer who liked to wear dresses, suck schwanzstuckers, while blackmailing other queers he didn’t like. They need to remove the queers name from FBI building.
Agreed. 100%. Kass is just perpetuating a myth. I always wondered what J Edgar had on everyone so as to last almost 50 years as Director of the FBI irregardless of who was president. Maybe Trump when releasing the JFK and MLK files he should also release the J Edgar files. Now I bet that would make for some very interesting reading.
Thanks for a great column John! A little delayed in getting to read it. I am thrilled with the opportunity before Bondi and Kash to shine the light if day on the Deep State and hopefully clean house. That said, it is a big job and the resistance will be strong! As Churchill said about the battle of El Alemein, “it isn’t the end, it isn’t the beginning of the end, but it is, perhaps the end of the beginning!” The “pre-pardons” from Sleepy Joe should not hold water before the US Supreme Court as they only can apply to crimes one already has been charged with, not “possible” future crimes charged. At least freedom of speech is on it’s way back to the people! Much more to come!
John:
Your column reminded me that, well, actually it was your brother Nicholas, who reminded me that we are at a crossroads and I truly believe that this is our one best shot to rid our country of the Deep State.
But, I am worried about the wildcard in all of this.
That wildcard is our Supreme Court.
Because there has been and will be more lawfare launched by the progressive liberals and their Deep State brain-eating zombies.
Get ready for the apocalypse.
Trump to the Kash Patel haters:
“I’ll see your outrage, and raise you a Dan Bongino!”
