Thank you John and brother Nicholas for the especially cogent discussion of the current situation involving Ukraine and its implications on the body politic. I just dusted off an old 1977 copy of author Victor Laskey’s book, “It Didn’t Start With Watergate” which described the alliances between the deep state agencies, the legacy media, and the Democrats which helped destroy Richard Nixon as recently alluded to by Bill Murray on the Jow Rogan show. They are using the same playbook against President Donald Trump, worth a reread.
Nixon tried to destroy the constitution. He was the first to use federal agencies to go after his enemies, CIA, FBI, IRS, etc. It was GOPers like Goldwater and others who went to him and told him to resign. He was a low class criminal.
Sorry Tom to smash your illusions, read “It Didn’t Start With Watergate” and you will find that though Nixon was no saint, your Kennedy bros and their old man used the federal agencies you mentioned to wiretap, plant media lies, and destroy opponents including their own Democratic rivals. Unlike you, the author Victor Laskey brings the receipts in the way of footnotes and annotations, and does not just blather and spew allegations without factual support.
Right handed vise grip on the back of the collar and left hand gripping the belt and rush to the door open or not! The Bum’s rush and stay out, Yam Head!
Always Fascinating with Nick. Now he’s going to Huston to check on a few things. Sounds like Ian Fleming.
Let’s play “what if”— Zelenskyy left his country in 2022 as many in the western world thought he would and Putin took over the Ukrain in less than a week. He would then control a country with 4o million people from whom he could conscript soldiers, all the military equipment that the Ukrain had, and all the rare earth minerals in that country. Europe which had allowed their munitions to severely deplete, Swedan and Iceland would not have joined NATO.
So a completely emboldened Putin whose popularity would be immense would be the kind of world that President Trump would have inherited.
Perhaps a little recognition of that situation and the tremendous sacrifice of the Ukrain people would be in order rather than forcing Zelenskyy to humble himself and kiss the ring.

Edward Roob: Well said. I just saw on Facebook a tweet that John reposted that called the Vindman twins the “Vindman Sisters” and suggested they be perp walked back to Ukraine. I hope it’s not true, but I fear that John has sunk to the bottom on this one.
I agree. When the US offered Zelensky a flight out of Ukraine as Russia was invading he said: ” … I need ammunition, not a ride.” Just think of what an American politician would have done in similar circumstances. John and his brother’s denigration of true bravery and heroism is disgusting; particularly so when John idolizes his father who likewise fought a “hopeless” but noble fight decades ago. And you know the real irony? When I praised the bravery of Zelensky and the Ukrainians three years ago, my very leftwing socialist friend presented the same arguments John and his brother present denigrating them.
Great podcast!
I give it a 10!

He has drank the kool aid
Excellent podcast, great set up for an epic speech tonight. Think of the work we have all put in to right this ship. I can’t wait
Zelensky I guess gets some cudos for his initial bravery, but he has more than compensated the wrong way for that. He made a grave error thinking he could be the tail that wagged the dog. I guess we are finding out what the balance of the world thinks of us right now – which to say the least is unflattering – which is interesting, especially when they are lost, utterly lost, without us.
A nice French red tonight
