  1. I don’t live in Chicago, but I always had the greatest respect for Garry McCarthy when he was Chicago’s police chief. It was simply because he always made perfect sense when he spoke. As he mentioned on the podcast, my first thought, too, when I heard about giving financial assistance to shooting victims was that it was a ridiculous idea; it’s like giving a reward for getting shot. FIX IT instead !!
