John, you should add a third option to your poll: “Yes, but I don’t want him to.” Obama’s latest coup will ultimately be successful in driving Biden out (great piece on Friday) but why not make him work for it. Biden’s refusal to leave voluntarily is not only creating panic and a loss of critical time and money for the Dems but it’s also exposing Obama’s role. It’s why I finally understand why (as much as they probably wanted to), they can’t install Michelle at this point.
OMG John, thank you so much for having Garry McCarthy on this podcast! So good to hear from him! I consider him to be the absolute best superintendent and chief of police. I have seen in Chicago in my 76 years! Truly an educated, interesting, and upstanding gentleman. I wish him nothing but the best because he is the best! Love him, and wish he was still in charge of the Chicago Police Dept..
Interesting that Biden complained about Trump yelling in his ear. Maybe it was his handler yelling into his earpiece.
On another note, I have not seen Taxus Maximus (BJ Pritzker) so flustered before. Bwahaha.
John, I moved here from NJ in 2009 and immediately started a subscription to the Trib. I was taken with your column from the start and followed you here. I came from Forest Hill in Newark, NJ and was so happy with Garry McCarthy there. He did an excellent job. I was delighted when he came to Chicago, where again in my opinion, he was doing a great job. How I wish he could come back and clean up a once delightful city.
Thank you for all you do and please, be well.
