The Great Debate: Trump vs Fake Jake the Snake (and Dana)

By John Kass

June 27, 2024

It is true that CNN’s Jake the Snake Tapper loathes former President Donald Trump and is expected to unleash his left-wing snarl against former president Donald Trump at Thursday’s debate.

It is also true that President Joe Biden will be there, trying to remember what Obama operatives running the Biden White House have poured into Joe’s ear before Thursday ‘s big debate. And it is true that CNN’s Dana Bash will attend. She and Joe will team up to come after Trump. And the ghost of Candy Crowley and other CNN stars who manipulated the truth to help Democrats on the debate stage.

But the main antagonist is Tapper, who has preened for this role.

Tapper is a leftist who has been publicly sniveling for his share of the leftist audience for years. His hatred of Trump is legendary.

As the Federalist’s Jordan Boyd has written, “Russia Hoaxer Jake Tapper Is the Perfect Partisan Hack to Give Biden a Debate Edge”

“There’s no doubt that Dana Bash is a Democrat agenda-beholden beast,” writes Boyd, “but the real game-changer for Biden’s first debate survival strategy is Jake Tapper, the infamous Russia collusion hoaxer who devoted more than two decades on television to defending Democrats and smearing Republicans.

“It’s no secret that the presidential debate system implicitly favors Democrats, in large part because the corporate media mouthpieces in charge of driving the televised conversation do everything they can to give their preferred candidate a leg up. In 2016, an analyst from Tapper’s network leaked debate questions to presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.”

Bingo.

Going into the debate, feeble President Joe Biden has been prepped, pampered, and no doubt has likely been given various pharmaceutical cocktails to improve his performance.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they fed Joe with the blood from of necks of virgins–making him Nosferatu Joey– to rejuvenate our geezer president who sniffs strange women. Do I find him repugnant? Yes. He’s taken the week off from the presidency to prepare. He can afford to take a week off with the world on fire? Why does he need to take a week off and hide from the world at Camp David? Doesn’t he know his job by now? Doesn’t he have important work to do, such as letting more terrorists, rapists and murderers into the country as “migrant gotaways?”

What Joe and his handler Barack Obama want, is for energized Joe to bait Trump with insults, hoping that Trump will take the bait and react in rage, Trump did in 2020 which helped cost him the election. If Trump takes Joe Biden’s bait, Trump will lose, warns my friend and political expert Thom Serafin on the Chicago Way ™ podcast that I co-host with Jeff Carlin of WGN radio.

“He’s taking the next five, six days to spend with his staff, rehearse and get through this process,” said Serafin. “Because this debate will tell us so much about what will happen in a few weeks in Chicago (at the Chicago Democrat National Convention)”

Jake the Snake is expected to protect old Joe. Or he’ll sell him out on national TV. It’s showbiz. This was foreshadowed by another CNN anchor adding to the drama and melting down and booting Trump campaign press secretary Karoline Leavitt off CNN’s air.

All the Trump surrogate was trying to do was point out the many times Tapper had personally attacked Trump, calling him Hitler and wrinkling up his nose at the mere mention of Republicans.

She was quoting Tapper. But CNN wouldn’t hear of it.

Does Democracy Die in Silence?  Yes.

Does Democracy Die if there is no CNN video? Perhaps. Consider the classic story of Tom Sawyer and the whitewash that was not first reported by CNN. And I don’t think there is any good video of the weasel Sidney sucking up to Aunt Polly. There is no video of Sidney’s backstabbery in the matter of whitewashing the fence. But Jake Tapper would have been the perfect Sidney Sawyer.

I am not some squishy pro-Tapper lefty. As loyal readers know, I am not a left winger. I am conservative. If Jake’s hair was on fire, would I get out of my leather recliner to help him put it out? No. Burn baby.

Still, the  pre-debate hysteria is obnoxiously disgusting. It is what it is. And no matter how the leftist corporate media spin things for Biden, the debate won’t fundamentally change the presidential campaign. It is a matter of style.

I’ve heard panic in some voices about Thursday night, because they believe everything is riding on the debate. Some say that watching it would be too much for them to bear.

That’s how CNN or FOX News drive the chumbolones into the chutes.

So don’t watch if it makes you feel better.

Spare your anxiety and tune in later for the spin. Relax by cheering on the United States Men’s National Team in COPA America on Thursday night, with the Yanks vs Panama.

But no matter the spin, the American people eventually have to face reality.

On Friday morning the obscenely high price of bacon and eggs and gas will not have changed all that much. The number of Americans forced by the Biden economy to live off their credit cards will not have changed.

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, the same moron who said inflation was “transitory” and who bowed and scraped like a servile baboon before Chinese officials, said she wasn’t all that concerned about high food prices. She doesn’t worry about the price of eggs. She’s worth at least $30 million I hear.

But in American grocery stores and supermarkets you will see women doing the shopping, and men, and all have been publicly humiliated because they can’t afford their groceries, will begin a Joe Biden ritual once unknown in America.

They’ll put items on the side, the dozen eggs they can’t afford, the coffee, the cheese. the bacon. The things they once gave to their families, but now they just can’t afford them.

And by Friday, with pundits and commentators playing the Game of Spin, do you know who is impervious to the partisan spin?

Your credit card bill.

And the dead.

The more than 150,000 Americans killed by fentanyl poisoning, murdered by Mexican drug cartels carrying Chinese product over our porous borders.

And all those women, girls and boys sex trafficked by the cartels across the border opened by Biden. And the left’s push for irrevocable gender surgery for young children that is castration.

Rachel Morin, the Maryland mother of five who was raped and murdered by Biden’s illegal migrants. And 12-year old Jocelyn Nungary of Texas, raped and murdered by Biden illegals. And the nursing student from Georgia, Laken Reily also murdered by Biden’s illegal migrants. And so on and on and on. If you don’t get angry soon, and carry that anger to the vote in November, the deaths will continue.

Watch  Jake the Snake run interference for the Democrats as he’s done for decades. Or not.

So tune in Thursday or don’t tune in.

Whine or not whine. Panic or not.

It’s your choice.

It’s your country.

    1. One of Don’s largest issues is the fact he and his mouth can’t stay out of their own way. Agreeing to these loaded, biased debates is a great example. As a staunch conservative, the one thing that really bothers me, is out of all the viable Republican candidates, he wins.

    2. Trump publicly challenged Biden to a debate saying “anytime, anywhere,” because, otherwise, he knew that Brandon would hide in the basement. So of course, Biden and the 4th branch of government (corrupt legacy media) then set the terms. However, this debate won’t be much more slanted than any other. Chris Wallace was not all on Trump’s side in 2020, and cornered Trump into making an awkward statement, which damaged his election chances. We can only hope that Trump will finally learn not to walk into the many traps CNN and Brandon have set for him.

  1. Dana is equal to Jake as a “lyin’” moderator.
Recall that her ex was one of the fifty one incompetent security officials that called Hunter’s laptop Russian disinformation.

    1. And one of the “16 Nobel Laureates” that just signed a letter that claims Biden’s economic plan is better than Trump’s which will lead to inflation is Janet Yellen’s husband. I guarantee you the Joetato will bring up that letter tonight.

  2. There is no reason to watch this “debate”, which is nothing more than an overhyped event to get people to watch CNN (Pravda Broadcasting, Inc), and give a boost to their falling ratings. Everybody knows where both Trump and Biden are coming from. Both of their positions are well known by now to anyone who paid attention for the last five years. The only reason anyone will watch this is to see if there will be a “Jimmy Carter moment”, where one candidate will make a fool of himself. I don’t see this “debate “as anything but entertainment masquerading as a news event. There is nothing that Biden can say or do that will change my opinion of him as a senile old man manipulated by his wife and others for their own purposes. The “debate” will change nobody’s position on either candidate.

  3. Panic, I will as I have for the last year or so. No, I will not – no I refuse – to watch this clown show. No reason to watch something so one sided. No reason to give CNN a single rating point. Even Tapper’s picture above turns my stomach. And you are correct that nothing that happens short of a heart attack on stage is going to change a damn thing. Somehow, although a horse’s ass personally, Trump is the bad guy. I know I was better off 4 years ago.

Unfortunately I have lost faith in people in general. There may be just too many loonies out there to overcome. And those will be the ones crying the loudest when the water finishes swirling in the toilet bowl.

    1. I totally agree, Ken, this complete sh@# show is not worth anyones’ time; Tonight I will watch Nicole Kidmans’ award show rather than these communist faggots on CNN (Communist Neophytes Network) .

  4. I hope to be on the deck of the Emita II for the sunset cruise (North winds and waves permitting), in order to ignore this Soviet-style non-sense. If not possible to set sail, I will take a nice walk and take in the beauty of Michigan City lakefront.

This CNN hog-call contest will in no way affect my vote on November 5th. I will gladly vote for President Trump.

  5. I think great swaths of the American electorate heretofore indifferent to CNN’s outright hostility to Trump are now keenly aware of their corporatist policy to do everything and anything they can think of to take down a president who in hindsight doesn’t look so bad to them any longer. There are only so many times you can go to that well over and over before there are diminishing returns. The CNN executives gotta know those Candy Crowleyesque stunts are risky business this time around!

  6. I will not be watching, I’ll watch the highlight reels tomorrow. The debate will not change my mind. Obama’s 3rd term has been a disaster. My grocery receipts, fuel receipts, utility bills, and savings account bottom lines is all the information I need over the last 3 years to make my decision. Top all that off with the lies and election interference, stumbling, mumbling, falling, shaking hands with invisible people, calling out for deceased individuals, and overall appearance of suffering from apparent cognitive impairment, not to mention a sitting VP who thinks running the country is like being a kindergarten teacher, it should be a no brainer.

  7. I, too, will not be watching. No matter how Biden performs like a trained monkey it will not change my vote. For those questioning why Trump would go to CNN for a debate he knows will be skewed in the first place, think of the headlines if he opted out.

There is no need for a debate between two people who have already held office. You either want America-first policies or Communism. Plain and simple.

    Read my take here: https://open.substack.com/pub/commonfolk365/p/the-rat-man-cometh?r=18wcni&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web

    1. As one of my favorite guest writers for JKN you have made it as simple as possible. Two choices. America First or Communism. I know like anyone with an ounce of sense that works for a living or has worked and finally tapping into what they gave the government for “safekeeping” we were way better off four years ago. The world was not on fire and our neighborhoods not overrun with criminal illegals who benefit like other criminals from the liberal Soros backed “prosecutors.”

  8. Today’s fine column gives us wisdom and tough-mindedness from John, as always. As for sitting through tonight’s horror show, I’m afraid I’m going with Jeff and Erin. There’s always good reason to fear idiotic pandering.

I won’t watch because this program because doesn’t need to be watched. When I was a kid, I laughed at professional wrestling. As an adult, I quickly stopped watching infomercials. But tonight — an infomercial in the style of professional wrestling? No thanks.

  9. As anyone who pays attention knows, CNN is and has been an extension of the Leftist Democrat Party for the past decade. Its open bias precludes any hint of journalistic integrity. This evening CNN will have the opportunity to use the debate platform to restore some of its lost credibility if its two moderators show no bias toward either candidate.

Will CNN seize the moment to begin its build back better and inch to the center or will they continue to sacrifice themselves for the bigger goal of destroying Trump and traditional conservatives?

    I know how I’m betting.

  10. I’ll be reading *Pachinko* tonight. Yeah, I know. From 2018. But I buy most of my books used, IRL (not ebooks), and in stacks (fourth one FREE! times three or four). And frankly, watching oil paint dry without a fan would be more informative than this rigged atrocity- although some of the suggested drinking games from pundits have their charm.

  11. I long ago lost interest in watching Debates. To sit for 90 minutes or more watching grown men and women act like preschool kids in the sand box is mind boggling. They say nothing of substance or, for the most part even relative to the Office of the President of the United States. They tell you the latest dirt they dug up on their opponents. At least if you go to a rally or a staged event for an individual candidate you have a better chance of getting the picture of the person asking for your vote. Joe Biden will not be the Joe Biden we all know tonight, but rather a hyped up on whatever meds they can get into him version. And Jake will be Jake in his true form. I am not expecting anyone in this circus to change. But I do keep hoping that someday, somehow, people will start to think for themselves again, ask real questions and learn all the facts before blindly believing the hype, the promises and the lies. Hopefully nobody will be wild eyed and screaming hateful words toward the voters in favor of the other candidate.

  12. Anyone too stupid to have not long since decried Joe Biden’s destruction of our nation is not going to be moved to vote contrary to their delusion after tonight.

  13. Someone has commented that CNN might actually use tonights debate to restore any semblance of journalistic integrity it might have left. Not with those two bootlickers sitting in. Don jr. said it already. His dad’s gonna be debating three people. He’s ABSOLUTELY correct. CNN will slant EVERY question to Bidens favor. You can be sure Tapper and Bash will finish Joe’s sentences when he starts mumbling and stumbling. After Trump responds and they turn off his mic they’ll be sure to get in the last word, spoken under their breath. Expect them to rebuke Trump whenever possible, praising Bidens missteps whenever possible. Now let’s look at the positives. TRUMP IS SMARTER THAN ALL THREE PUT TOGETHER. Trump is once again playing the media like Zubin Mehta plays a Stradivarius violin. Trump knows tonight’s festivities will only highlight the left wing medias bias and hatred. This will definitely fire up the Deplorables and boost his campaign fund. No matter how well Trump does will he ever be declared as the winner. If mumbling, stumbling, juice jacked up Joe can give a good coherent fifteen minutes tonight you will see these fifteen minutes played ad infinitum in the media propaganda machine tomorrow. If Biden keels over in cardiac arrest from the ten Redbulls they gave him to drink, Garland will have Trump immediately taken into custody and charge him with murdering Biden. It would be a win-win for the Democrats. Got rid of both Biden and Trump. I know it sounds far fetched but what is far fetched anymore?

  14. BTW…in case you had any doubts about Tapper being a Democrat operative look up the recent incident at his home. The Hamas mob went to his home to harass his family and the Federal police were there in minutes. Not for Bret Kavanaugh or any of our Supreme court justices who were besieged by Chuck Schumers Brownshirts. Tapper gets Fed protection. Jake is special. Get it?

  15. Yianni,
I don’t expect any miracles to come out of the debate, seeing as how it’s so biased against any and all conservative thoughts or ideas. But it strikes me how sad we are as a country to have elected such a bumbling idiot, who can’t seem to remember any important information with which to perform his job as “the leader of the free world!” How embarassing. The world laughs at us. And yet, the socialist part of America continues to parade Joe mumbles out in front of us as to say – “see, he’s still alive!” I suspect he’ll be dumped soon, and we’ll have to contend with “cackels” Harris, who, like Joe, has no brain in her head, and doesn’t even know what day of the week it is. Such a shame, that so many voters got sucked into the “hopium” distributed widely by Obama disciples in the main stream media. And now, we have shaky Jake and the snake to “pose” questions to Joe mumbles and bad man Trump? Just wondering, but why is it all the filthy rich elites support Joe? Perhaps they’ve already made it and look down upon the rest of us from their ivory towers. Guess we’re just dumb chumbolones, praying for some sanity to return to the country. Want to know why there’s so much crime? Look at the president, and his cabinet, who flout Supreme Court decisions as meaningless. Perps figure, hell, if he can do it, then I might as well go out and carjack, loot, mug, rob and murder, as I know I’ll be out in a heartbeat with no cash bail (thankyou gov Maximus!) We Greeks said it best “the fish smells from the head!” Once again….let us pray…

  16. I won’t be able to watch the debate this evening as I’m teaching class; however, I hope to watch a replay of it first prior to hearing the various spins. Nonetheless, my question as we hear about Biden’s prep, especially a specialized location/stage . . . are taxpayers paying for all of this? One would think the President of the USA would already know what’s been going on the past 3.5 years!

The other question: If he doesn’t, who is REALLY running our country?!?!?!?!

  17. I like nothing better than news media to tell me I’m not intelligent. What I see is not what I see. What I hear is not what I hear. Silly me right? I must obediently follow what I’m told for my own good.
As a retired, widowed suburban woman. I find myself grocery shopping with anxiety.
I have to choose what to put back. But then I realize I must save democracy so who am I to grumble? As I once again have to pull out a credit card.
Yes I’ll be watching tonight. I thought I’d play a drinking game with how many times the host and hostess say “ being a convicted felon.”A double shot if they play the sexual abuser who had to pay five million. But alas I can no longer afford cheap booze.
How sad is it that the sitting president has to one take a week to prepare even though he ran three times for the office plus he’s a life long politician.
    Thanks for another great article.
Will you be writing an article following up the debate? I’ll be looking forward to that.

  18. They’re all reprehensible. But the Queen of the Snakes is faux “Dr.” Jill Biden, who so loves the trappings of the White House that she trots out her addled husband to run for another term as president — the nation be damned.

When I was a little girl my father took the car keys from my grandfather after he hit a parked car. Jill Biden doesn’t have the decency to take the keys of power from Joe.

  19. John, I get the. impression you will skip the debate. In my case did you ever hate someone so much that you need to witness their falling on their face. For me that would be Biden. I don’t mind taking the chance that the drugs they pump into him work.

  20. I read somewhere that the CNN moderators, Jake Tapper and Dana Bash, will be able to mute either Trump or Biden at any time during the debate. How is this fair? I wouldn’t be surprised to see Tapper muting Trump multiple times during the debate. In addition, there will now be commercial breaks at set intervals. Apparently, this will give Biden’s handlers sufficient time to rejuvenate Biden with additional drugs.

  21. Mr. Kass- I was hoping for common ground but once again find myself disagreeing with most of your article today. It’s hard to know where to start so I’ll pick just one topic- the U.S. economy. I’m sorry to have to say this. Your language is colorful and clever. But do you really even know what you are talking about? Or are you just parroting Donald Trump’s rhetoric? By what metric are you claiming the economy is so terrible?
The only one I can think of is inflation and it’s true, inflation has been much higher during these past few years than we’d like. But here are the actual facts on inflation-

2023: The average inflation rate was 4.1% (Investopedia).
2022: The average inflation rate was 8.0%, with inflation peaking at 9.1% mid-year, which was one of the highest levels since 1981 (Investopedia) (The Balance).
2021: The average inflation rate was 4.7% (Investopedia).
2020: The average inflation rate was relatively low at 1.2% (Investopedia).
2019: The average inflation rate was 2.3% (The Balance).

By comparison here are the rates from the late seventies/early eighties when you and I were young adults (I don’t know your actual age but am guessing it is similar to mine).

    1978: 9.0%
    1979: 13.3%
    1980: 12.5%
    1981: 8.9%
    1982: 3.8%

If you do the math (I’ll be happy to do that for you if you like) the aggregate effect of inflation over the years 1978-1982 (Carter/Reagan) were far more damaging than what we’ve experienced during these past five years 2019-2023 (Trump/Biden).

Also during those Carter/Reagan years we were simultaneously plagued by high unemployment and low economic growth which at the time was referred to as “stagflation”.

So I’ll ask again. Regarding economy- WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?

    1. What in the Hell world are living in? Have been in a gas station, grocery store, or any other store lately except the Obama BS Store? Or better yet, do you pay any Illinois taxes like property, income, or even sales taxes or do you live in Never-Never Land? Tell the rest of us where this wonderful land is so we can find it and get rid of our financial worries and no longer have to worry about what bill to pay in what order. Just remember, thanks to our wonderful governor, you can buy all the marijuana you want and not worry about anything. Maybe that is the secret.

    2. I remember those years, late 70’s and the eighties. I had to take a semester off from Marquette so my Dad could use my student loans to pay for my younger sisters to go. Stagflation, yes, also no bonus for my Dad while college costs went through the roof. Moreso, I remember first starting out in my career, a few years behind the baby boom and no matter how hard I worked I could not keep up with costs, prices of homes, cars, Lincoln Park beers etc. But that was demographics.

It feels the same today, like I felt in the eighties – I’m fine, making solid dough, but food, gas and most recently college – just can’t get ahead, again.

Except this time its not demographics – its Deep State, Democrat, corrupt spending, and spending on ALL the wrong things – the Biden ROI no different than taking a couple trillion dollars and building a great big bon fire with it. ZERO ROI, negative actually.

    3. I’ve seen higher numbers for 2021, 2022, and 2023. You are correct that inflation was not a problem in 2019 and 2020 Trump years. Maybe inflation today is not as bad as the late 70s, but if OPEC still had the power they used to, it probably would be. I know the CPI is now calculated differently than it was then. Still, it’s the worst inflation that we’ve seen since, which is why it is in the top 3 of voter’s top concerns. The 70s inflation is a big reason why Reagan got elected.

  22. The sock puppet’s handlers have already given Biden the questions Tapper and Bash have provided, and devised the answers. The only question is: will his drug cocktail be potent enough for him to remember?

  23. Hey John, No matter how much you talk to women voters about the cost of unaffordable dozen eggs or bacon, you know that Biden and the Democrats got their skirts on abortion rights. So, unless you can overturn women’s voting rights, the Dems will keep winning and stuffing their pockets forever and ever!
