Part of what we talked about included the number one political issue in Chicago, violent crime and the sense of lawlessness, and whether the growing blowback we’re seeing in other parts of the country will be seen here as well in the upcoming political campaigns.

 In the past week in Chicago, two Chicago police officers and an officer of the U.S. Marshal Service have been shot, including a police dog helping federal authorities find a fugitive.

And last weekend was like so many others in Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s so-called “Summer of Joy,” with 33 other persons shot in the street gang wars, and six dead.

As this happens, the Chicago Tribune endorses Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle for re-election. Preckwinkle is the patron and protector of Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx, one of the radical George Soros-backed prosecutors at the center of the national debate over rising urban street crime.

In San Francisco, Chesa Boudin, another soft-on-crime Soros-backed prosecutor faced a Tuesday recall vote. And other recall efforts were building against other Soros prosecutors.

“I see a real backlash,” Bevan said on the Chicago Way. “You mention Chesa Boudin, of San Francisco, the most liberal city in America. And they have reached a point, with the rampant public drug use, the increase in violent crime, the general filth that the mayor, London Breed who is also very left-wing said famously a few months ago that ‘We’re going to stop the bull—- that’s ruining our city.”

That starts with recalling the prosecutor. But in Chicago, where there should be a growing demand for the recall of the prosecutor, legacy corporate media protect Kim Foxx and her enabler Toni Preckwinkle.

A desperate Boudin and his left-wing media mouthpieces were trying to reshape his public image, but it may not work.

 “He said with a straight face that he never joined the call to defund the police, but after 2 seconds of Googling, you see he was at an event with Ayanna Pressley, [Democrat U.S. Rep of Massachusetts.

Pressley is one of the members of “The Squad” of left wingers who control the Democratic Party. She is from Chicago and attended the elite Francis Parker High School on the North Side. And Chesa Boudin was also raised in Chicago.

Boudin’s parents were members of the violent left wing terrorist group the Weather Underground. They were convicted of a New York armored car robbery in which two police officers and a security guard were killed. Boudin was raised in Hyde Park, by his foster parents, the Weather Underground leaders (and prominent members of Chicago’s political left) William Ayers and Bernardine Dorhn.

You could say that the prosecutor of San Francisco was raised by wolves here in Chicago.

“Well, we’ll see if that backlash extends itself to Chicago and the mayor’s race here,” Bevan said. “Clearly it didn’t extend to the Tribune newsroom, the editorial board, but we’ll see what voters have to say when the time comes.”

Clearly.

And yes, we’ll see what voters will have to say.

Voters are fed up with soft-on-crime prosecutors like Foxx, Boudin and George Gascon of Los Angeles and others. Corporate legacy media has long protected and supported these Soros-backed prosecutors.

How does it play out here?

As many of you know, the newsroom of the Chicago Tribune, once a great newspaper, is now dominated  by its leftist newsroom guild.

And when I tried to warn readers of Foxx, Soros and other Soros-backed prosecutors, the newsroom guild falsely and publicly defamed me. My column was removed from page 2. I had no choice but to take a buy-out.

The Tribune now endorses Foxx’s patron Toni Preckwinkle for re-election. She and Foxx are at the center of the hard left political clique whose policies have been attributed to the increasing sense of lawlessness on Chicago’s streets. And despair among taxpayers.

And they’re protected.

As Tribune guild leadership engage in petty personal Twitter attacks against me, the guild pushes the Tribune ever leftward, losing readers, becoming increasingly irrelevant. Management now all but gives it away for mere pennies a week.

The other newspaper in town, the Sun Times, which has long been of the left, has also moved farther leftward through its acquisition by progressive public radio station WBEZ. The Sun Times endorsed Kim Foxx for re-election.

And so, here we are, in the crime-ridden shut-up-and-take-it city, in the shut-up-and-take-it state of Illinois.

The people fear rising violent crime, as left-wing Democratic Party political actors like Foxx and Preckwinkle are protected, enabled by major legacy corporate media. What media critics remain are also of the left. And they don’t dare rock the boat.
